New project time!!! Some of ya'll may remember our kids atv that we did a budget "build" on where we added a predator 212 and had some fun messing around on it. Well we had so much fun with that mini project that we decided to do a full build! This thing is going to be a rocket and a blast for anyone to drive. The idea of the build is that it is about the same size as a mini bike but it will be fully suspended and have 4 wheels. We really like how the build is turning out and we think these builds could really catch on because there are tons of these little atvs laying around. In this video in particular we built the suspension which included a completely custom rear swing arm as well as we lengthened the front A arms making this thing have a really aggressive stance!
Thank you guys for watching and be sure to stay tuned for this thing to get an engine build and a little more metalwork to make her a complete ripper!

All right so it's time for a new project right here we have the ATV. I don't know if you remember it, but we basically did the most budget bill possible and it's a complete oofty, but it was really fun and we really kind of fell in love with the idea of having a small ATV with the 2:12 on it. That we can rip around so we talked to our friends at go power sports and I'm going to show you what we're put into this thing. So the plan for this bill is our friends at go power; sports really hooked it up again.

We kind of wanted to have kind of the vibe of one of those stunt ATVs that people kind of slam and put like taller tires on or slicks that they just drift around do wheelies have fun we're gon na use. Are these actually mini bike tires, but I think we might have traction deficits with just how the tires sit, but I think it'll be okay. It's gon na help us drift and stuff, and it just looks awesome. So the idea is, we just want this thing to be wide and low, with a nice suspension, we'll get all into the suspension stuff later in this video from go power sports, but this is going to make this bill awesome.

This is a Tillotson electric start racing motor straight out of the box from go power. Sports we're gon na put the link in the description. You can't go wrong with the Tillotson much more durable than 212. It's gon na be amazing.

So the first thing we're gon na do is get to stripping this thing down better slam. Dude slammed all right, so here goes the whole rear swingarm. It's actually pretty well set up on this thing. What I'm going to plan on doing is just basically chopping here and remaking a whole new rear section out of one-inch steel tubing.

So we have our tires all laid out, and this is where we want the ride height and everything set up. I'd like it to be about two inches off the ground. I really want this thing to be as low as possible to make wheelies and stuff, but I think if we move this rear swingarm out a little bit and wide and like basically double the width of this thing, it's going to look amazing. This has got me excited you guys.

I think this was like 2 12 electric start till it's it's gon na be awesome. So now we're gon na start making it happen. We're gon na go over here to the swing arm and basically, what we're gon na be doing is I'm gon na just chop here and then I'm gon na go over to our Pro Tools, tubing bender and we're going to completely Bend up a new rear section. It should look sick, there's a plan, basically I'm making a rear swingarm for this day.

So the only thing that's going to get in the way of this is the chain. So basically, we can avoid that by just making it wide enough to where the rear sprocket isn't going to interfere. So imagine your sprockets right here, we're gon na Bend up to 90s. Have it intersect right here and the chains just gon na go straight over it? So, let's get to our Pro Tools: fender and Bend up some tubing you'll one like equals.

One hair off of his head drop a like on the video guys. It was really difficult for me to figure out what point of this was Square to where we could have the axle bearings welded on here and here and still be straight. So what I did is I put this bolt in and I made it so it went through the bushing on the inside. I measured from my mark here to the inside edge of the bolt which puts us right at 13 and when I did as I went off this way did the same exact thing and got right at 15.
So that's me good enough for me. So what I'm going to do is how I cut it and right at the end here, I'm gon na just butt up our axle hanger from go Powersports and weld it all it Hey. So the concept behind this is pretty simple: oh yeah, here's Argo power sports shock, it's very pretty all in white and black. Oh, don't really know what color combo we're gon na go with, but I know it's going to incorporate.

It's like just a huge contrast with like white and back black, so I did is I cut out a little bar here, and this is gon na act as two things: a shock mount and the support. So this is gon na go right in between our little swing room here and then I'm gon na mount the bottom of the shock to it, make just two little eyelets that can go through and then that'll raise it. And then I was utilized as factory uh upper shock mount it looks a little weak. I probably had like one extra bar to it.

This is also the first rendition if it's too springy or too low we're gon na end up changing this factory location. But I figured there's nothing wrong with it, so I try to re-engineer it so that'll go here and I guess we'll just be starting somewhere like this, hopefully droop about two or three inches off the ground. So let's get this stuff welded up. We are done with the rear section here.

I'm actually really really happy with how this turned out. I actually did. I went through a couple different renditions of kind of things like that. I didn't really like and stuff.

I used to have the hangers kind of mounted horizontally and I figured it'd be better if it was just a little bit longer so I broke the tacks and welders into the vertical, but it's it's nice and springy, but it's a it's not too. I wanted it to be on the stiffer side, so just because like before, is really sloppy and stuff and like for wheelies and stuff and like being in control, I'm having too much flex and suspension, travels kind of gets in the way, sometimes but anyways. The back of this thing is really wide much wider than the front. So what we're going to do now is I'm gon na chop, the factory, a arms in the front and basically we're gon na lengthen it all by the same amount, probably about two inches.

Nothing crazy just enough to help us get a little bit more travel. So I just finished up the front suspension. It's all welded up. It looks amazing.

I mean it works pretty. Well too. I kind of demonstrated here it's a little bit on the springier side, but I really do like how like our ride height is when I sit on it. We're compressing about probably a couple inches, the back, compress it a little bit more, but I set it up that more travel in the back, so it's kind of more fun for the wheelies and stuff, but I kind of jump on it a little bit.
It's pretty much. This is quite a bit of force, probably more than we'll see when we're driving it, but I really like how its riding and if it's on the Springer side, we can always just move out. Our shock mounts a little bit further. So it's further than the radius, but with that being said, we're wrapping this thing up.

Thank you. Go power. Sports got all the live, axle parts wheels and tires and shocks, we'll go power sports and it's really making this little kids atv into something. Awesome.

So be sure to check them out. The links are in the description for all of that be sure to follow us on Instagram. Thank you guys for watching we'll see you next time. You.

I definitely have more popcorn for this one! Great project! Does Go Power have any spring selections? After the rest of the static load (engine, drive chains, handle bars, disc brake) is added, I'm spit wadding for you to want about %15-20% more total rate on the back end and maybe 10%- 15% for the front. that probably won't really take the soft springy completely out but it should help keep you from bottoming out the suspension more or less. Oh, and how is college going guys? Grades up and all that? Get that degree- it is key to getting to the life you want to live! BTW, if it turns out that your degree related job doesn't seem fulfilling, you still have a great income to help pay for the next studies to go where you want to go!

Man, you guys need to start using true shock absorbers with compression and rebound dampening! Those “shocks” your using are nothing more that a spring and retainer. All your projects would handle 1000x better! And you can pick up used ones from wreckers for cheap. Love what you guys do!

That’s going to be a fun little machine when it’s done! You guys should put a 125cc dirtbike engine in it when you get bored with the go kart engine it would be a riot!
