    Investor bait at its finest.

i think they are converting potential energy stored in speed bump while it's up. car pushes it down and if bump has like 2 ton spring and car pushes it down completely, it's effectively moving 2 ton up and down. but sure, 150wh is way too much for that bump that in best case moves like 10cm at max. I'm not sure if these people ar scamming, or genuinely believing in free energy. literally every "energy harvesting" I've seen recently is just energy stealing. harvesting pavements for example that make you go on constant stairs in principle to "harvest"(steal) energy that you normally wouldn't spend while walking.

Energy doesn't come from nowhere it comes from the car the burns fossil fuels running over it

Company check data shows this company is in massive debt, year on year increasing
£95,293.00 -£377,450.00 -£915,266.00 -£1,327,164.00. I wonder who is going to end up losing?

If it can stop a 3 Ton Vehicle going 96,6kph to 0kph and also converts all the energy into electricity, it can produce 300wh per car🎉. But the biggest wind turbines produce the equivalent of over 50000 „3 Ton Cars“ in one hour…

I can just see, a snow plow going over this thing once at 80km/h , and for the next 40 years you would be digging pieces of it out of the ground for about 500m on either side.

I mean I'm too lazy to do the math this morning, but a 2500kg car lifted 100mm stores how much potential energy? Isn't that where the energy comes from in this system, the car lifting itself up onto the pad?

Cant wait for Tax money to be spent on a 'demo', money well spent for green washing.

Look i'm not smart so correct me if i'm rong.
Einstein told us you cant create matter out of noting, so if this generates power it will come from the car losing it, meaning… it needs to burn more fuel.
EV's gona be the best thing for this, you loose battery charge hitting these speed bums so they can generate energie and sell it right back to you.

Speed bumps aren't meant to slow you down. They are meant for you to slow down before you get to them. So by the time I've got to this generator bump I've already been on my breaks to slow down.

That Morgan Freeman voice has to be AI generated. The speaking cadence is weird and not at all how a real human would speak.

A reminder to you all – life on this planet is carbon based. Decarbonising = de-lifeing!

  13. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars @pwolkowicki says:

It's stealing energy from your's car engine!

  14. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars @zaphodthenth says:

If this generates power from cars driving over it, what happens during times fewer cars are on the road, like night time?

Or worse yet, traffic jams when cars are barely moving?

PLUS millions of extra expense and construction costs have been added to roads in order to recover… A tiny amount of power. A roadside windmill would provide more power in this case.

A highspeed speed bump?!?! That's what I call innovation!!! 😂

    Crowd sourced energy

I have to ask, why? Wouldn't be easier, more practical and actually make some sense to use solar panels as sound deflectors in highways? Theyre not being ran over by trucks, have a secondary use and being sound deflectors they probably are near some houses that could use that energy lowering transmision loses. Aside, there are some interesting studies about double sided vertical solar panels.

So yes, this is obviously a stupid idea for roads, but, is it actually that bad an idea for landing strips? You would need a way to lock the system out for take offs, but on landing passeenger aircraft use an awful lot of reverse thrust to slow down, so not only could you generate some energy, but also save some fuel for the reverse thrust…

  19. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars @LaurentiusTriarius says:

I have invented a much simpler system the road could be conveyer belts, eh

Man. whish this technology was in my house floor. Could make like 5-10 Wh every step I take

  21. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars @TheMrTape says:

Ignoring inefficiencies just to stay conservative, is pretty outrageous in a case like this. To begin with, the cars are only about 30% efficient. They don't just need to expel the same amount of energy to get up to speed, they need to expel at least 3 times as much.

Could have used some more focus on the fact, that the energy is harvested entirely from the very fuel of the cars, via the forcefully increased use of the fuel, which means it's a loss from the get-go, and is going to cause a bigger CO2 discharge than it saved (not that that's a problem to begin with, of course, unless you breathe mainstream propaganda).

The main focus should be that they're literally stealing the energy, and in turn money from the drivers; they're not capturing energy that would have been wasted, they're forcing cars to spend more energy, and capturing that at an insanely low system-efficiency of about 10%.
