In this video we pretty much do a complete mini bike build! This was a really old video sitting on my computer so I figured now would be a good time to put out a new project because we are wrapping up the rotary and the turbo kart. With that being said it's time for this offroad mini bike build! The idea behind this one is that we are going to make it look like the Jeep CJ7 we fully restored, then we could put them together and ride them both on the trails. So in this video we did a ton of metal work to make a new seat, painted up the frame and wheels, and finally built a Harbor Freight Predator 212 with go power sports engine parts!
Be sure to stay tuned for the next episode where this thing gets a monstaliner paint job and hits the trails!

MERCH

MERCHANDISE CUSTOM DESIGNED BY YOURS TRULY
https://teespring.com/stores/build-break-repeat

Okay, so now it's time to build the minibike, that's going to match the CJ, we got to see ten minibike over there. I was super successful. So basically, this thing is going to be the same anvil paint color, which we really like it's a factory, JK color. She definitely watched the registration of this things kind of the first videos we didn't kind of what got us into YouTube, because the plan is, we have a little hitch with like a little ramp.

Where we can park, the minibike they'll be pretty cool to bring like off-roading and stuff, and then we have a little like recovery or, like trail looking vehicle, this one's going to get a little bit more custom work than the c10 bike. We're gon na probably redesign this entire seat area. This cuz, I kind of like this seat a little bit better. I get a stage two engine filled with a mod two cam billet rod, billet flywheel all the works, I'm better engine we're gon na that thing's gon na go good built and then now that the bikes, mostly mocked up, I think we're gon na do all the Metalwork on this, like they're right at this world right at this world, and then right behind this one and we'll just redo this entire two peaches, Oh application.

Let's say you do it today. I think we should just leave it like this holding a little chopper style. So, yes, this frame kinda looks more like a bomber with a seat kind of lower and farther back. It's gon na be pretty cool sister.

Do these bigger, tires and stuff come feet off rude yeah rather than stuff in style, so I cleaned up all the old remnants and the old metalwork welds, so it's all smooth yeah. So this is basically not. This is actually some scrap metal we had. We have.

We bent all the vents the same on the kiddie pool go-kart, so we just used like two identical vents. They actually are gon na work really nice. We really want to get this heat as low as possible, like we finished all the framework for this, and it looks really good, like we've gusseted all of this, but this bar and it looks actually pretty stock. We were able to use like a piece of eighth inch steel to keep the gap under here consistent throughout.

So that's pretty awesome. So our goal is underneath our gas tank like this. So what I'm going to do is I'm just going to cut some of this flat stock right under here and mount it up with our bolt holes? That will be good. Then the front will make a factory clip, so the seat can clip in like this.

Just got a slide and click earlier, just in just a piece of like thick steel here, because I mean you can see like the hole in this is pretty much perfect size for it so doing all the slapping it so kind of just fits right in there. If you line it right, watch right it yep, so you can see it kind of slots right into there and then it has two bolt holes on the back. So I like you for moving forward and backwards and it looks really good. I really like the riding stance on it so yeah now we just need to do the part where it's cleaning up all the metal and stuff, because we're gon na repaint this frame black, like it, was originally looking a little bit shinier.
They look a lot nicer to be worth it to do so. Let's get started with, I mean assembly. This is always pretty easy. Cuz a lot of stuffs not bolted in these to come off, then there's no mop wheels come off, I'm just gon na start cleaning up this frame got a couple.

Little brackets that we cut off. This has got to go and we're just gon na grab some bumps down and then paint time. Hi guys here is the place all stripped down. Metalwork looks really good yeah.

We got prep Forks now we're going to paint the tires and a pretty cool we're going to do black with a red gloss rammer on the outside something a little different in our cold. So it's pretty sweet so now we're going to save this thing up hanging in the back yard and then spray. Some black got a write about daylight. It's topless she's, getting their final coat of paint all right, but you turn you got ta help out.

It's never interested Joe, because I'm doing this by myself, yeah, unfortunately so selfish, the nerve of that dog. Okay, so we got it all masked off and now we're just gon na spray, the gloss black okay. So we just have the red painted up and I just got one or where you go, looks pretty awesome yeah. So I mean there's art like this, but it's gon na be like the it looks like the general alright guys, so we're now going to begin our non end.

The engine build for the anvil, CJ minibike. I mean basically as simple as it gets, which give me a stage to build Jason. What's going on this thing, so, first off we have a 24 millimeter kakuni without properly getting everything for this engine, then we got valve springs 18. Pound valve springs, then super cool, clear valve cover.

We have mod Kim right, mm-hmm, okay, my two cam, oh here's, the billet rod and then we got the billet flywheel and spacegirl. You need yeah, so pretty simple, basically just just hanging it apart and horseback riding me. The ride install just a definite, so everything gets pecking on that geez. Is that it's pretty much? Everything is off of this thing.

It's not easier to take the carbon gas tank out together. This little has been not changed since our ownership of it. So, let's see the damage, you look horrible, it's not shine here and then it's just gone, dark yeah. I mean it sinks, those the governor inside out, there's that much.

You know bearing shredding going on bad boy out. I just got the bullets free. They were not reusing that so I got the bullets free. This thing looks pretty clean in here good, so I guess now all we need to do is we need to take an impact zap this off a hammer off this fire, we'll take the take the crankshaft out and now we're gon na get to the governor, and Then it is real time, okay, so there it goes easy as that, the key way back before I forget everything on this looks pretty very good.
So now we're going to take the governor out, which is just right here and then time to put the cool cool parts in now. We're at the point where I got. I got the AR see bullet rod on the piston, and now we are putting on the pretty easy install all right. So we got the rod torque to 150 foot pounds up with 120 increment.

So now we got our mod to cam here and it's pretty much just a drop in check your line, the doc first yeah it's pretty much as easy as just lining up the two dots and it is installed for good sweet there. We go alright guys. So I have the valve lash set to for thousands of each one. So that's pretty good! I got spark plug in these are torque down to.

I forget how many foot-pounds, what yeah it seems like doing all right, not compression all that a pretty good engine. So I think we're gon na throw on the mikuni and the clear valve cover and the exhaust and then it's pretty much good to go soon. That's awesome! We just need a gas tank on here, but like pretty much all done, it is totally built full oil and it's ready to go on the same way. It's made like a little engine run plate so we'll put two nuts on there.

Then you get my stand out run, so it's not rotating all over the place, fill the gas, no we're good okay. So we turn the auto screw in like a ton and then was back it off after stretching she's a runner boys yeah. So far, so good! Yes, so fast-forward about six months later - and this is how the bike sits, it looks really good. We actually had a different plan of how we're gon na post these videos, but because we come in this, this was always like a side project and we had other stuff going on.

So we kind of filmed everything in pieces like we filmed the metalwork and a piece we filmed the paint in the piece and we filled the engine build like two months later after all that stuff, so everything was just kind of a mess and I was going Over the footage - and I really that's the best way to do this - we'll just put the whole build and then like two parts. So in this part, we're gon na have the engine build and the frame, and here it is all together we got go power. Sports premium, torque and murder on here and some 40 chain all you get some cool shots of all of that stuff. But really it's all done didn't really miss much other than running a throttle and brakes and all the basic stuff I mean all you all.

It really is, this: is the engine chain of throttle, so didn't miss much there, but the bike looks really good with the red tires and all that or the red on the red line on the rim smell that so super proud there. So, what's next in this build is actually at the paint swap meet. I bought a gas tank front from an old Honda motorcycle or something so we're gon na actually have a real gas tank on this, which is one of my critiques of the Baja bikes. Like didn't, have fake gas tanks, I'm not a huge fan, so we're going to put a real one on there and then we're also going to be working with the company monster liner that they sell like really cool tentacle truck bedliner, so we're gon na.
Do this whole bike or our defenders and the gas tanks and the truck bed liner? So it's gon na look really sick, really sleek and it's gon na be basically indestructible. So look forward to that, but that's gon na wrap up this video sorry is kind of all over the place, but I really like the direction this bikes going and it'll be kind of cool to get a whole build out in just a couple of episodes. So stay tuned, probably next week we're gon na post the second part of this for a paint offenders and then we'll have to take it out with a CJ and go off-roading. So those are you Jeep guys out there stay tuned for that.

So thank you. Go Powersports. Thank you guys for watching, see you next time. You.

I definitely need to build a better frame and add suspension and better wheels and tires… I messed up when I bought my wheels and got some tiny electric scooter wheels ๐Ÿ˜‘ the combo of the wheels and no suspension makes hitting a bump at 35 a butt puckering moment. Turning coal to diamonds…

Would you like to sell that bike if not do you have any recommendations where I can get a mini bike frame with suspension on it ??

I'm thinking of making my own mini bike from scratch a similar size and style as that, but I am confused as to how the steering tube works, is the inside the same size all the way through or does it have a place for a bearing to sit? How can I do that with regular steel tubing and a few bearings? Are the bearings pressed in? I am asking because I don't have a mini bike as reference and have not had the chance to see how it works on a friends mini bike.

Is that a custom frame that they started with? If not where can I find one like that?

Looking good guys but a rigid tail bike is not optimal for off road use. You may want to add a hinge and springs or shocks to the seat as this would give you rear suspension. Make sure to space the seat from the frame some so it does not squish any sensitive body parts (fingers, butt cheeks, legs) when compressed against the frame. Also you should put the foot pegs in a position so as to be able to stand up while riding as your legs make great shock absorbers while standing. Just my 2 cents but I am 41 and have learned allot about minis over the years.

You guys should build a small paint booth show people how to build one so that way you can build and paint call the small projects

You need to gusset the frame in the front where the tubing converges to hold the steering. The older bajas where bad about breaking there. The later models had a gusset. Looking forward to seeing this one finished!

This is really weird that you guys are doing a build on this type of bike right now because about 2 days ago I just bought my first mini bike which is the same exact model. And before I bought it had a 212 on it (which I'm swapping with a Honda gx270) ๐Ÿ˜
