In this video we manually tune the turbo efi go kart and MAX OUT the injector. We were able to get it to run a little on the rich side at high rpm which is exactly what we wanted! This thing is really fast now and really builds boost and pulls into higher rpm. And we can really floor it and make the most of the turbo because before we couldn't pass 3/4 throttle. There is nothing quite like this and we are way past the point of this being practical so keep in mind this is only for the fun and experience of having a turbo go kart, not to make crazy power.

So it's now time to get serious about tuning this thing we drove this thing last video and we really were kind of disappointed about some of the results so Jason. What are we gon na do to fix it yeah, so it seemed like. I was running a little bit lina at the top end, especially so we're just gon na go the fuel map real, quick and just kind of change. The bottom values to just be full injector all the time and then we'll see how that goes and then fine tune from there yeah.

So basically, what we're gon na do is we're just gon na sit in it and put load on the edge and using the brake. Definitely not the best way to do it, but we don't have access to a die or anything, and it's not like we can drive holding the laptop and tuning and data logging lets me unlock it up. A rev range will take it out and hopefully get a good ripping it all right. Pardon the interruption but as y'all know, we hit a huge milestone, and subscribers and stuff so in here should be our hunter K plaque.

Let's get back to work, we do need to be able to see all the data. The o2 sensor, all that type of stuff to really be able to tune it and see. What's going on, so we just picked up a Walmart tablet. Okay, so the plan is that we're gon na have our tablet mounted up here with little Cal over it to just kind of blend it into our body.

Super easy to use. This thing was $ 65 at Walmart. It's got all we need. It has.

Bluetooth battery lasts five hours, it's just the basics, that's not bad! I mean it's plastic, but that color is a blue. It has Navy. Yes, that's scaled up so yeah. That would be nice.

It's perfect yeah! If you, if you were doubting how much money we had into this card, already got some more eco, Tron's offers a Bluetooth adapter for the kit. You don't always have to have like a laptop or something plugged in through cables to see. What's going on so we got a little cheap, Walmart tablet, and from here you can see everything is going on with the engine. We got throttle oh to rpm map battery, just pretty much everything we'll ever need to know and that'll make a nice little just kind of a temporary amount, we'll just zip tied to the steering wheel or something like that and we'll know.

What's going on so we're here so now we just need to set up everything, get the digital working and we can drive it alright man. So how did drive yeah so much better? So it's kind of you can either drive like two ways. If you ease into it, then you kind of can't floor it near the end. But if you floor it from the beginning, then it just keeps going and goes all the way to rev limiter.
I'm sure you guys could here just kind of revelatory at the end. Yeah but yeah we don't have any really problems with it, cutting out or anything. It has a lot more power than a had. Last time we drove it.

I mean it's, it's pretty dang fast yeah, it's impressive. Can you feel Boost kick in yeah kind of it. Kinda, is it just kind of keeps pushing you and I guess it's not like on and off, but it it kind of builds and just keeps going and going go red line. Reach! Oh yeah.

I guess we'll get some rollers and stuff. It sounds good. Okay, guys, this thing is insane. The problem is like when it turns up it, just rattles so much and everything's coming loose.

We actually lost the box that holds like the Bluetooth receptor for the digital dash. So hopefully it's not broken cuz. It's like a $ 60 part yeah, but overall this thing has zero torque, absolutely none. If you have an off-road, cart and you're thinking about doing a turbo on it, don't it's just! It's not gon na move, but this is really about the experience.

We're really not! We've gotten this far, where I obviously know it's probably not going to make a crazy amount more power, but we're just doing it for the experience. There's nothing like having a boosted go-kart and we can say, we've experienced it. So that's kind of the reason we're doing it, but I do think it makes a lot of power at top-end. Now, on the last drive, we couldn't even think about passing 3/4 throttle and now you can floor it for a dig and just ride it out to redline.

    If you ever return to this crazy cart, just tune ignition timing at low RPM to gain some torque at bottom end (timing table used in this video is good for top end because you need less advanced timing at top end, but at bottom you need advance the timing for best power) but beware of knock! 😂 Just experiment with it, you should hear knock at this small engine. Allso tune it for at least 13.5:1 AFR (= more power, because excess fuel will cool down cylinder walls and prevent konck) and keep eyes on intake air temperature….

    I must say I really love that rev limiter when you hit it on road 😍

    it is neat but bruh a motor cycle engine would simply crush that you would only need a 150cc-200cc dirt bike engine and BAM that thing gets left in the dust. That turbo is WAY to big for that tiny little engine. Sorry guys that's a mission fail. Get em next time.

    As a kid, we ran super modified dirt track car fuel in an 8hp Briggs motor. Backfire blew carburetor loose. We kept wrenches when riding. Straight pipe muffler it blew blue flames when backfire.
    It was mounted on a reinforced 2 1/2 hp mini bike frame! It was super fast until we blew engine some time later.

    Hmm… it doesn't seem like the turbo is hitting full spool. You may be getting positive pressure, but I'm not hearing any blowoff noise so its definitely not hitting whatever you set the valve to.

    I wonder if supercharging might be better at this engine size… do you think that turbo would work on say… the ninja250? (I've been thinking about trying a tiny turbo on mine)

    you guys need to learn what fuel trim is used for , and understand that you're using a fuel injection system on an air cooled engine….smh. you're trying though….i would recommend taking a class on EFI and then learn how to use a gas analyzer……not like you guys pay any attention to comments with legitimate advice though.
