In this video the predator 212 turbo go kart with electronic fuel injection finally drives! It was a lot of work getting it to this point and a whole lot of tuning. In this video to get it ready to drive we had to fabricate mounts for a small tractor alternator, that way we could have a charging system for our predator 212 kart. After that it was only a matter of getting out to a place to drive and letting the kart build boost and drive! We didn't go to crazy all we wanted to do was get a baseline and do some tuning.
Be sure to stay tuned for this thing to get a digital dash and some more tuning!

Okay, so in this video we are finally gon na drive our stage 5 credit or EFI with turbo pretty insane. So, in order to do that, we have a brand new co power sports battery that they shipped out to us and we're going to run an alternator on this thing. Our plan is to mount it somewhere, where it's kind of out of the way completely just right about here. So the first thing we're gon na do is we're gon na tear this axle down and get our pulley and hub mounted got our axle off and we welded it on this pulley there yeah.

So now we just got to work on mountain upper alternator. Our mounting is gon na be really simple for the alternator. All we really got to do is cut two tabs and just drill some holes and bolts right up alternator bolted up with our Mountain made, and it's actually looking really nice we're gon na plenty of motion to tighten it and there's plenty of room in here. So this is the whole alternator bracket off the c10.

It's made, so you can slide it. So basically, all I need to do is cut it here and then add an extension and then we're going to weld it to the back of the seatbelt. Okay, so we have our mount all done. We ended up having two gusts at the back of it, just to make sure it wouldn't wobble or loosen over time.

But it's super strong looks really nice and though we did have to weld that on there's really not too much wobble in the pulley or anything. It should really work well now that we have the alternator mounted. We did just the power wire to the battery, and then we have the alternator ground to the battery as well. So now we just have this little kind of jumper wire and we're just gon na test out the wiring of the alternator just to make sure everything's working before we keep our wire acquiring cleaned up, really nicely actually ended up getting everything kind of nestled around I Mean it's still really big, but uh yeah, the wines pretty much done.

All we got ta do is finish the fuel pump and then we'll get to driving. This thing fool, dang guys. The turbo is so loud, like I think it's the bill motor gives it a lot more boost pressure and stuff, but sounds amazing right now. It's kind of running bad.

We got to let the the engine heat up and the air fuel sensor turned on, and then it can begin self tuning. So the name of the game here is just driving it for as long as we can letting a charge and stuff and letting it tune that school is incredible, alright guys, so it is definitely exceeded my expectations. It is a little shaky. You can't go like full throttle, but um.

It does feel like it's kind of at full throttle and maybe like 3/4 throttle, and it does have really good power. So we do need to get um once we get the digital we'll be able to get a log on the go. So we won't have to have like holding a laptop here. So we can data log on the go.

We might be able to really figure out. What's wrong with this thing and then for the dyno will be perfect, feel fast yeah. It does actually feel pretty fast. I mean probably like built right into this, but maybe once we get it right, it'll be a little bit better.
Oh dude! What the GoPro! Oh yeah, I got it. Oh that's nice! Okay did that Matt broke what's going on GoPro huh yeah. Did you look at that? Yeah, I'm no mechanic, but might need to be tightening. That's probably a severe boosters leak.

Oh yeah! That's fine! Nothing! Good! I don't really know what to say: it still needs some more tuning on the self tuning. Just isn't doing it enough for us. We're gon na have to rich enough that up for, like 75 percent range of the throttle, but other than that this thing is so fun to drive like this spool is so much louder. It has a very similar exhaust setup to before, but I think our stage 5 pressures just getting a lot more boost through that thing and we didn't blow it up.

So that is a really good thing. We were kind of worried about that with just like a fully built engine running it kind of in on ideal, AFR's and stuff, with too much Bruce going through it, and all that, but yeah super happy with this. It seems like our charging system worked very well. It leaks a lot, it has a lot of blow-by and stuff, but I mean for what it is and how much we have into it.

It's really fun. So thank you guys for watching. Thank you. Go power sports huge help on the build, be sure to pick up a turbo shirt.

See you next time.

If you did that weld on the axel hub and pulley, then you have leveled up quite a bit

so a much cheaper and simpler solution would have been to use a draw through carb on the turbo intake, with the throttle stuck open, then a second carb right before the engine with the fuel line disconnected, just so you can have a throttle. You can't throttle pre turbo because the engine will suck oil out of the core.

My daughter's soap box car is faster…. AND LOUDER! I think the playing card in her spokes does more than your turbo is doing for you…

Put a boost gauge on it. Dirt cheap and simple. It looks hella slow, I'd love to see if it's actually making boost.

Can't believe that charges at such low rpm. What's it off of?

Guys, you need to build a bigger turbo dump pipe! The bigger the better is the rule on dump pipes 😉

so much effort and work and srill turbo doesnt work a shit out of itself, its not running properly neither is built properly… waste of time

I'm not very impressed unless it's not making the power it's suppose to. Seems to missing something.

Make sure u have the closed loop sensor on if not will never run right in the higher rpm goes off the factory wide band

I think a 420 woulda been better. 420cc on efi. I'd try to do a roots supercharger . A few videos were they have a couple using a air pump. Or use a smaller turbo like kyle did on his from the boosted boiz

If it has a 1bar map sensor it will only be able to read 14 ish pounds witch is atmospheric pressure ( what we breath). You'll need a 2 bar map sensor to read boost pressure

That's seems like a lot of voltage for those tiny wires but other than that I think this is awesome.

Power added by turbo = .08 HP! parasitic loss from alternator =1hp! Intake on turbo without the proper Venturi…priceless!!!
