Hi, I'm down in the dumpster room and it's a computer stack. Symmetrical computer stacking. Fantastic. Um, I have seen higher than this.

I've seen like a multiple um, piles. actually taller than myself. There's probably a photo on Twitter somewhere, but yeah, obviously. um, somebody's moving out.

Whole bunch of stuff that doesn't look a parallel port. Um, yeah. see, you wouldn't even touch that. That thing looks ancient.

A couple of Hp jobs. The pro Desks: I like Usb 3 right off the bat. I'm going to nab that one because I think that's uh, the same as the one that I'm using in the lab at the moment. So a couple of Usb 3s, they're always the marker for Usb 3s.

They look pretty good, so one up the top c doesn't pretty much you know a Usb 3 might be the signifier for that. Oh, there you go. That one's got video card. Ah, Core Two see Core Ii duo.

No good. But yeah, those are pro desks. I really like those. I'm using one at home and also the small form factor using one at home.

And for the uh, lab, um, video capture. you know my uh, microscope capture Pc and four Usb ports? So yeah. nice. The big towers not.

wouldn't even bother taking them. Um, and I'll look at that. Sony I might upgrade. Um, is that one any good? Does anyone know like I kind of like the one? I I want to keep one just in case I have to, uh, do a Vhs or something.

Um, I don't know if that one's any good. If anyone can, tell me, I don't know. I think I've got like a Panasonic or something at the moment. but uh.

anyway. Yep, there you go. Symmetrical computer stacking. Brilliant.

So I'll come back and have a couple of those. I'll go get the trolley. All right. I scored half a dozen small form factor pcs.

I left those bigger desktop ones there. Yeah, if you see a parallel port on it, you know it's yeah. it's a bit how you're doing, so not worth taking. But anyway.

Uh, we've got one. Uh, Hp Pro Desk 600 G1. It's got a Q85 uh chipset, fourth Gen Intel. It's got the I5 sticker on it, so you know it's likely to be like a 4570 or a 4670 something like that.

That is probably going to be the best one here. I'd say we're talking like between five and six thousand pass marks. something like that anyway. And two Usb threes on the front, which is great.

and they've all got, uh, burners in them, which is absolutely terrific. Then we've got one of these. Uh, Hp Pro 400 G1 instead of the 600 we had. so it's not going to be quite as good.

but it's got the H81 chipset in it. Um, this one is like engineered like they boast. You know, 115 000 hours um, Mtb Ibf time between failures. So yeah, these are, you know, super reliable like business machines, so well worth getting.

And then we've got three of these. These are Hp Pro 6300 and they're not really as good. These are only third gen uh capable according to the Pdf. So we're talking like an I5 35, 70 or something like that.

Still pass mark is probably going to be still like close to 5 000 perhaps? They've all got Core I5 uh, stickers on them. No Usb threes on the front, but it's got four Usb uh threes on the back which is very nice. I think one or two of them have, uh, graphics cards and then uh, the poor bastard left over the odd one out the Hp Pro Slim line here. it's actually a Hp Pro 3300 and well, yeah, it looks a bit how you doing doesn't it? Um, Windows 7 sticker on it, core I5 but we're only talking a 2000 series uh, I5 processor.
so meh. Well, I think this one does have. yes it's got a video card, but uh, it's not going to be great Anyway, let's power these things up and see what's what's what. So this is the Pro 3300.

Looks reasonably clean inside, a cooler master fan on it. Um, silent video card we'll try. and oh, it's a Gf 210 video card. So yeah, um, but you know, worth keeping in there because you can have the multiple.

You should be able to get the multiple monitors out of this, uh puppy, shouldn't you? anyway? Um yeah, they've ripped out the hard drives out of these things as you'd expect for data security, but they've kept the uh memory in there and the processor so nobody has ratted these things. So apart from a hard drive, um, should be good to go. All right, let's power it on. Whoa.

Bit of dust and flew out there and nothing. Nothing using the Vga output on all these. Okay, let's try that again. Ah, there we go.

we're in. I had to choose the Vga output of the graphics card and no worries. Of course it works. Yeah, as expected, I5 2400 it's a bit how you doing, what's the pass mic on that don't even think I want to know.

Yes, I know these pcs that are thrown out are better than some people's pcs that they're actually using now. But um yeah. anyway it works. Of course it works.

And the first of these 6300 s'more form factor jobbies, these have got the Uh. four Usb 3s on them. Uh, the power supply is a bit how you doing. it's hanging on the inside so we can fix that.

It's got a graphics card of not much note I'm sure. um no hard drive, but it's got the memory it's got. The processor should boot up. Telefunken built by Born Pro.

Perfectionist. Love it. Well done. Wonder I totally still around? I got no, I got no clue.

you know, is it just a re-badge from somewhere else? But anyway. um yeah. Once again, I might have to plug it into the uh oh. I've got a Hdmi out there.

this crusty dumpster. The reason I use this uh Telefunken is because it's got lots of inputs. It's got Hdmi, It's got Vga, It's got uh, component video. It's got composite.

It's got Rf. It's got everything. It's just handy for, you know, just using as a lab, uh, monitor just to you know, power stuff up. Power it up again without our video card, which is, I don't know.

you can have a look at that. For those playing along at home. I don't care. it looks pretty wimpy, it's getting some sort of signal, and we're in.
And there you go. It's an I5 34 70 as predicted. Um, yeah, that's it's still close to uh, 5 000 part or 4 000. Is it 4 000 pass mark or something? 4 600 pass marks.

That's not too shabby. So you know three, uh, small form-factor pcs with, uh, you know, that kind of pass marker. Still, these are like decent machines. You can use them for all sorts of stuff and it's got eight gig of Ddr3 memory as well that's usable and the next 6300.

Let's check it out. I expect it to be identical, just it didn't have a video card. Yep, exactly the same. lucky number three.

They got a bit of dust in them, but uh, yep, that's booed. In course it is. And yep, exactly the same. three.

out of four out of four now and that's three out of three. For the Uh Pro 6300, it's nice. Okay, the Pro 400 G1 this is what I use for my Uh Capture Pc is a 400 to 600 can't remember. Anyway, it's exactly the same look as this.

Uh, so let's power it on. And uh, all of these have got serial ports. By the way, D9 serial ports on. I'm nice and handy for a lab Pc.

Let me tell you. yeah, of course it works. There it is. I5 45 70 Oh, I only got four Meg Ah, I've been diddled, but you know it's it's still useful.

I forgot to show you inside these. uh, by the way. and once again, all hard drives are ripped out, but we do have two Ddr3 memory slots down there. We got the processor.

I like the cooling on here and these are very silent by the way. I use one at home and for the lab Pc as as well. Here, the capture one and silence is important and they've got, you know, variable speed fans in them. and they're just like they're whisper quiet even when I'm doing like full capture and stuff.

And yeah, they're a little bit a little bit dusty, but you know, no wackers. Anyway, let's power this sucker on keyboard. Lucky last, Will we get six out of six? Of course we will. 95 percent Sure! 95 did I plug the Vegan? Yeah, I plugged the Vga in.

Yep, it's gonna boot. Come on there we go. Yep, there you go. That's the Uh six.

Um, Pro Desk 600 G1 that's the I5 4570. So we're talking like over 5000 pass marks. So still quite a decent Pc with a gig of ram. So there you go.

Six out of six. Um, absolutely no surprise whatsoever because like, these would have been working pcs and they simply tossed them out. I don't know if those desktops, they still would have been, uh, using those and whether or not they just had them. you know, sitting around and when they dumped these, um, half a dozen small form factor pcs, which, uh, these are like a classic use in any sort of, uh, corporate business environment.

Because they're small form factor, you can like put the Monda on top, or you can stand them up vertically next to, uh, you know, or under the desk or whatever. Really nice small form factor pc. It's really, you know, the average worker, um, doesn't need anything more than this. This is why they so these, uh, this format is so popular and uh, you know these Hp's and stuff.
They just like own the market for these sort of things, don't they? um and yeah, common is mud for like lease machines, but these, um, well, they might have been lease machines, but I don't know. They didn't want them back. they tossed them or whatever. But uh, yeah, it's it's common to toss these machines out.

So we're talking half a dozen small four factor Pcs or at least five of them with around 5000 or more pass mark. yeah, 4th gen, 3rd or 4th gen Intel I5s. but they're not. I7s.

Could have been a bit better, but you can't be a winner. Winner chicken dinner every single. uh. dumpster dive.

But yeah, there you go. So there you go. That was. dumpster.

symmetrical Pc stacking. Uh, just like the Norwest Mass Turbulence of 1984. Fantastic. And all of them work.

Absolutely terrific. So yeah, of course I'm back in the old lab now and it's half the size and I can't keep accumulating this sort of. so I'll just probably be giving this away. Um, when I sort all my stuff.

I mean, given them more and more, most of my weight, Maybe I don't know. I'll keep another one. I've got a whole bunch of Pcs still over in the the junk room now. I've moved everything over from the 100 square meter rented lab into the 50 square meter Joby I own here.

For those who don't want, who don't follow me on library, I don't know why. library exclusives where I've talked about why I'm moving back and the economics of it and all that sort of stuff. The video's over there, you can just go watch it. and all my supporters as well have seen those videos.

Patreon supporters, uh, subscribe Star supporters and Forum supporters as well. Have seen those videos so they're in the know of why I moved back and um, yeah, it's just economics. I'm going to be saving a metric ton of money. Uh, yes, that is an Si unit.

So yep, unfortunately. Uh yeah, I don't have the space. and well, my bunker. or uh, whilst it's almost as big as this lab, it's not infinite.

Um, and I can only keep so many. So yeah, I'll be giving a whole bunch of these away. Sorry, no, please don't beg down in the comments. I'm not going to ship these things.

It costs more to ship these things to somebody than it does to. uh, you know, just send you the money and go buy one locally. Um, seriously, it's like, especially overseas. So uh yeah, it's just not going to happen.

Sorry about that. But yeah, I'll just, uh, give a whole bunch of these away. And along with other, I've got a whole bunch of other. Well, I've got some left.

I've been throwing out a couple like really old crusty ones I got from the dumpster. But anyway, yeah, I'm going to have a big big giveaway shortly. but yep, sorry, it'll only be for locals. Yeah, it's just too much hassle packing and shipping stuff.
Sorry, it's just not worth it trust me. Especially when some of the stuff weighs like, well. I'm giving away a photocopier. anyone want a photocopier? Gigantic color.

Jobby weighs like I don't know. 100 kilos or something. Yeah, obviously not going to ship that. But so anyway, yes, companies just throw these things out.

People keep asking, how can companies throw these out, why don't they sell them blah blah. It's not worth their time and effort. What would you get? You know you might get. If you clean this up, you might get I don't know, 100 bucks on ebay or something.

people don't or gumtree. People don't care like there's the markets just flooded with these things and they just dump them. They dump all this stuff. I'm in a big corporate office tower shared by multiple buildings and you know, like 100 companies or something.

And it's yeah. like people just upgrade or they move officers, they go out of business or whatever it is. And yeah, they just dump this stuff anyway. like the video, please give it a big thumbs up.

As always, discuss down below: catch you next time.

You definitely won't be installing Windows 11 on those, at least not without modifying the installer

Might be a multiregion DVD/VCR. It says PAL and NTSC on the VCR side at least which is a good indicator.
As far s the HP 400 and 600. I think those are just chassis size indicators.
At least on the Z series you can put a bunch of the same stuff in a Z600 or Z800. The 800 just has more drive bays and physical space.

These kinds of SFF machines are incredibly handy for HTPC setups! I personally use a Fujitsu Siemens Esprimo E from 2007 that was given to me, and while it only has a Core 2 Duo E4300, it gets the job done just fine for me!

need to slap yourself silly and get ALL of them next time, perfectly good parts for builds or to give away for various projhects that you're just too lazy to do

I would've gone through the remaining PCs for parts such as RAM to upgrade the "good" ones. Some Core2 PCs used DDR3 RAM for example.

Worth noting that in the UK we have WEEE regulations 2006 (which became law in 2014) which means that old IT equipment needs to be disposed of "responsibly". Therefore "dumpster dives" don't really exist as a result, also worth nothing that local council refuse/dump sites have security guards & cameras (seriously – they actually guard peoples discarded items until it's recycled! Google street view it)
