In this video we take one of our own go karts to a racing track! We recently purchased a full membership that gives us anytime complete access to this track so we wanted to bring something to give a shakedown of the course. After getting this go kart running we loaded it up and took some of our first ever laps on a track. After riding and getting used to the turns and corners we got the chance to do hot laps and time and race each other which was super fun!
Thank you guys for watching and be sure to subscribe and stay tuned for the video of this thing getting built!

Big video coming up, we actually just bought a membership to a racing track here in Texas. So, basically that give us a key to the place. We have unlimited access, so we're super excited to get there and we figured the perfect way to break it. In was with our free go-kart that TJ got us at the two-stroke racing cart, so it should be really fun and perfect for the track.
It's nothing huge like I don't know. If we let take the rotary out on it or anything, but I think stuff like this and 2:12 stuff's going to be perfect for it. So let's get into get to the track with our new trailer and rip it. So we got the car here.
Pretty easy drive, we've got the trailer, let's go drive it all right. We got the race suit, take it out and just warm it up a little bit and we'll just start doing some laps claiming to be professional Carter's. If you, if you, if your seven-year-old, could beat us on the track, please just don't roast us, but yeah we're just trying to have fun here, not really trying to set any records, we're trying to get a little bit faster. Of course, just naturally, so I really hope you guys like this.
It's a lot of fun for us, oh man, dang, it's really fun. Finally, getting to a track, I mean having your own part, having kind of like an open track. It's like nothing else way better than developing neighborhoods random roads. We have around the house, this thing's, really fun.
We did have some problems with it breaking up at the top end. I shine a tune it a little bit, but we probably need gold, some forums and find it exactly what we're supposed to do, but we're all really great Karp, really great track fun fun. I chose up first time on the track: yeah suits nice and sweaty from Jason, oh yeah, about that speed juice. What you think man, oh man, first time in track, pretty fun the singer.
They eats it up on the straightaways yeah. I think it needs a little work, but it's still tons of fun, even if it's not running all the way right. Yet my turn super psyched. I drove on this track once before with like a govern to 12, but this is gon na be something else.
So, let's just do it that was so much fun. I do really like the two-stroke kind of a cart thing. It's just like the problem is, if you mess up a little bit like it bogs so hard, and it's like really hard to recover so like. I think it feels like a 212 at the torque converter.
It'd be a little bit easier to like kind of go through some corners and make mistakes. This is just gon na help us get better data. Our driving because, like if you mess up you slow down so much now that we've had a test each do eight laps, we're gon na do kind of a Time Trial thing. So basically the start/finish line is over there and they don't let you like walk across the track.
So what we'll do is just like kind of where this gate points it's gon na be our start/finish line. This is the opposite longest straightaway it's gon na work out. Pretty good so we'll do is each of us is going to run three laps and then we're gon na have three times laps and the best of the three time lapse is going to be what we do. So, let's get started. I've started 4048. 6646 Joe's first laugh 5409. 4940. So he did a little bit faster than penny, so we're back at storage.
The cart did amazing. We didn't blow it up or anything and that wraps up our driving, so Jason was the winner with a 48 second run. I was in second place to the 49 second run and then Joe had a 54 second run, so can't win them all, but thank you guys so much for watching. This was a super fun video.
If you liked the track content be sure to subscribe, because this is gon na be the first of many track videos, so thank you. Go Powersports, see you next time.
I wanna see the rotary tracking… maybe throw the turbo on it since rotary LOVE boost.
We have made a lot of improvements at the track if you haven’t been out in awhile! Come take a look!
Move your seat back, your legs should almost be straight. Better weight distribution and COG will allow you to let 'er rip! Also, make sure you use full-synth karting oil, especially on those Parilla engines. Have fun!
Maybe rob dahm can help you with the wankel kart but i think if you need any replacements parts you need to machine it yourself
You probably know this but that is a Iame Puma 64 or 85 depending on the cylinder diameter. It is a very common engine and it is usually used by kids between 9 and 13 years old. You shouldn't have problems looking for parts for it. i can give you some info. If so reply to this
Do you ever experienced understeering problem in any of your go karts ? If, how you had overcomed it ?
What the heck happened to the Raptor project y'all were building for the 60s kart? Raptors and flatheads in general are awesome!
I have one of these but cadet size
Briel kart with a KT100’
HMU if anybody wants to buy it
After setting the idle to hit response where it doesn’t bog down. Go full throttle under a load if possible and adjust the high needle to max rpm and back off any where from an 1/8th to a 1/4 turn depending on you and how safe you want to play it the higher the rpm the less amount of fuel which means the lesser the lubricant
the full throttle issue seems to me like a slight ignition problem, try replacing and gapping the sparkplug, get an iridium plug! also, change the sparkplug cap, don't use 2 resistors if you want to run sparkplugs with a resistor in it you shouldn't have one in the cap. I hope that's somewhat understandable my English is kinda bad : / greetings from Germany btw :))
It took you less than 30 seconds to use the #1 youtuber cliche', "I'm super excited". I'm with other subscribers – I thumbsdown every video that uses (abuses) that worn out phrase. C'mon man. You can do better. Leave that pat out or at least change it to "I'm anxious to . . . ".
When I was 8 I had a KT100 for Autoxing and that two stroke was perfect for pulling out of turns, so much power. Then i got a World Formula Briggs and Stratton motor 4 stroke and it was terrible for speeding up out of turns, kinda like the Cart you guys have. Weird how it works. I currently drive a CKT Honda 125cc 6 speed shifter cart, lemme tell ya, thats the meaning on fun.
That looks like a blast ! Reminds me of when I was younger (1980s) I worked in California and the had a place called Malibu Grand Prix they had like mini Indy cars with snowmobile motors it was timed laps and got it pretty good. I live in se Michigan and around that time they built a park in Detroit like 20 miles from me with the same kind of go carts and the bumper car type carts where a pack of people ran together plus an arcade. My friend and I went there a few years and raced each other for the top 3 times that they posted on a billboard in the middle of the track, I beat the third fastest time up there but wouldn't put my name up because 3rd fast was a girl. The first two I had no idea how they got that low time 🙁 My Bud and I even bought our own helmets so we didn't have to put strangers helmets on our heads. Keep up the great videos you guys do some cool stuff .
That is great you have access to a track now! I bet you will even encounter other folks there that could even give tuning tips, etc… Is there a Max speed they permit on that track? You should take the rotary out there for sure and see how it handles and does.
May have been geared a tad tall too, if its still picking up speed before your braking zone it could probably be a tad lower (numerically higher), still cool kart and on cam, thank you!
Sounds like it needs a fresh sparkplug and put a clutch on it and use redline 2cycle oil with a little racing Caster in it it give the oil a little film strength
Great video! You should be able to move the seat backwards and the pedals forward to give yourselves a little more room. Once you get the starter figured out, it should be a direct drive kart. It’s not designed to have a clutch and are a bit cheaper.
Lean is HOTTER and faster,… but it is rough on the engine. Stick with that jetting for now. Learn to use the adjustment needle on the carb as you are on the track. NOT TOO MUCH!!!! A 2 stroke requires the pulse from the pipe to make the "sonic pulse" work correctly(sing). Keep it on the pipe for power. Fall off the pipe,… no power,…BOG!!
North Texas Kartway looks like an awesome track to shred bro, I would love to kart it or run my nitro 4-Tec through there!
I kinda wanna see you guys do a race between the 2 stroke, the Rotary, and the Turbo kart
If its breaking up up top, the high jet is rich. If it was lean, it would be gutless.
Ironically enough, you probably want it like that. Keeps it from blowing up as often.
The dash on the kart is a lap timer, google Alfano Pro and search how to set the timing strips. They work off of magnetic timing strips in the track so ring up the track and ask how many time strips they have and set it accordingly
Hey, don't sweat not being "professional karters" it's not about how fast you go, but how much fun you have. That little kart is awesome for being a freebie too
Hey so for those of you who are new here we are all college students so we need to stockpile some videos during the summer that we release during the school year. I’m uploading this from our apartment at Texas A&M as the first “stockpile” video. But we are still super interested in hearing your feedback and advice because we have big plans for this frame going forward!
Hi I have a kt100 energy kart and kt100 tony kart,I want to go track it so how much on average was the membership?and could someone pay for a day membership can you explain some of this and what options for payment and tracking?
God I remember pushing my Rotax 100cc to get it to start 🙂 Sometimes I would be half way around the track before it would start 😬
