Hi again. just wanted to show you the like, you know it doesn't look too bad, does it? But if you actually go in here and look at the look at the water, it is just a ridiculous amount. The water. That's crazy.

Yeah so it's all soaked right through the carpet into the even wet. and whether or not it has an underlay or whatever. even if I dry this out I suspect it's just gonna be. it's gonna be no good it says, you know it's gonna stink.

We're gonna gonna have to get like fans and dehumidifiers or whatever in here. actually just down the hallway the other week flooded I don't know if it's due to rain, but maybe there's some other pipe leak or something in the head these dehumidifier things in going in the hallway for a couple of days. so yeah, I'll notify our strata tomorrow and they can. Yeah I'm sure send people in with you know we're probably a big dehumidifiers running this so loud like there's no way I'd be able to shoot in here with stuff like that going anyway.

even though even the water out here is like this one over here, this was deep before. it's haven't mopped it up yet. There you go nuts and over here. Yep Whoo! yeah.

I think the carpets gone ski. Well this is gonna be a slow process. that's how much water like it goes right down to the bottom there. so that's how much water I Just stopped up in like half a square meter.

barely that. Yeah, this is gonna be a slow laborious spray. it's cuz there's you know. it's probably like a hundred litres of water that came in here.

I don't know something, it's it's just nuts. Anyway, so it's really tough work because the vacuum is so powerful and there's such a sort of like vacuum force when you're hooking. Yeah, we can put on wet carpet that it's a real struggle. Actually move it along.

So yeah, it's well. whoa. Lights just went out, lights just went out, safety switches just cut in. Or is that that night? No, my computers are still on.

See the computers are still on. Umm yeah. Fantastic. All right.

Yeah. I Suspect there's water in the roof somewhere that's nasty. Yeah, that was the earth leakage circuit breakers. It's lucky I've got those installed because the lab didn't have him.

So damn yeah. So had those installed on all the power circuits and all the lights. And as I said, there might be something wrong with the aircon because David heard something in there as well. So I don't know.

Haven't gotten up in the roof yet? I'm too busy just mopping up the water. Um, this is not good. It's not. This is not good.

This is gonna take a while. Hmm okay. I'm up in the roof. This is above my lab here and this is all dry.

so all this top part is dry and I'll show you around the other side in a minute. But but the problem is that is that divot that we had and that's where all of the water is gone. So I suspect some water, probably trip the lights has got in via one of the light circuits down in there I can't see them at the moment? Yeah, there's some wiring down there I'd say one of those light circuits tripped and that's what has triggered all this. Anyway, that's the side of the building there and the glass, external, glass, curtain walls, and stuff like that.
So yeah, stuck down like it's not too bad. but yeah, I mean all these cheap rockers flooded because the water was literally water falling from that point where my torch is coming through the lights there. So this must have all been well under water to get like the hundreds of liters of water that was coming into lab. So maybe the officers on that side over there copped it too.

Perhaps I don't know, it's the rest of the lab actually. but I think there's any issues there I can't see anything sigh I think there's a don't think there's a problem I think it's so I don't know what David hood with the aircon, but there's the aircon unit right up over there I have to check that later. Anyway, yeah there. I Was just about to finish my mailbag this day and tonight - I was gonna finish it, upload it and release it.

sorry I was like 10 minutes until I was done and I don't think it's going to happen. So yeah, if you don't see any videos for a while, you know what's going on. Try and keep you updated. Catch you next time!.

Anyway it doesn't look so bad. When there was floods here (Prague, CZ) few years ago, it was 2.5m height of water 😉

  2. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars BurntTransistor says:

That's one way to wash the carpets I guess

Is that a FLOOD? jeez, come on "man" !

As someone who's had to shopvac a metric fuckton of gray water before, I feel your pain. Also, I'm genuinely surprised the drop ceiling hasn't collapsed yet. That stuff is basically lightly compressed cardboard and absorbs water like crazy.

  5. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars DAVID GREGORY KERR says:

I hope everything to back to normal.

WOW what a mess Dave. Hope things work out for you and you're insured. Best Wishes n Blessings. Keith Noneya

Down the road from (where I think) you are and copped the same storm. Office was also flooded. A previous warehouse I worked at collapsed under hail a while back (Eastern Creek)

What is it with Aussie builders lately that can't put up a decent roof?

I started thinking it was April 1 when the lights cut out (I know it is March, but Dave posts them the day before April 1 where I live). But it seems as if it's too early by a lot for that.

With all the water soaking into the ceiling tiles, you might want to wear a hardhat.

  14. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars electronicsNmore says:

I saw a lot of romex wires above the ceiling. Usually in buildings they only like wiring in metal conduits or armored cable.

  15. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Gordon Lawrence says:

I had something similar to this a long while back. Mine was not such serious flooding though because most of the water collected in the light fittings. LMAO. It's funny cos it's true!

  18. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Shmeh Fleh says:

That sucks man, I'm sorry. I wouldn't bother trying to dry the carpet; just pull it. My finished basement flooded a few years ago. After wasting a couple of weeks running rented fans & dehumidifiers, I found out that the glue that held the carpet together was shot, and I had to replace it anyway.

increase price of items which you sell.

  20. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Robert Hansen says:

Im sorry that happened. I hope. That all is well,. Despite the flooding

  27. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars SpinStar1956 says:

I have had this happen several times. I just suck it up, then rent a carpet cleaner and use a bleach solution to both soak and then pull-up the solution several times (weak enough so I've never had color loss). I've never had any odor problems when attended to promptly.
