Hi, You've no doubt heard me mention my library channel before which is going Gangbusters. It's Eevblog dock TV which is the URL which will redirect you over to here. he's the actual URL Library A Dotter TV it will be our why, but it's pronounced library Um, at Eevblog : 7. There's a reason for it has the : 7 which I won't go into any way.

it's going Gangbusters. I've got 17,000 595 followers. They're not called subscribers, they called followers on that library. It's going.

Absolutely fantastic. and in my opinion, it is the best alternative to Youtube at present. Yes, I do have a bit shoed account, but it's not really growing. I've got thirteen hundred and fifty-six our subscribers and there's issues with it.

and there's issues with library as well. I think I might have gone into that in the odd other video. anyway. So what is library? Well, a library TV More particularly, you can go to Library Comm and you can read all about it.

It's basically an open source, decentralized alternative to YouTube Or it's a content delivery platform. It doesn't just do video, you can do audio and all sorts of other content on there. but Library TV which they launched late last year I think and that's when I've growin like hugely from nothing up to where I am at the moment. I'll show you the top 200 channels in a minute.

But yet basically it's a decentralized alternative to YouTube. It's available on a browser, which is Library TV It's available as a Windows desktop app. It's available as like Android and Apple II apps and things like that and it's going absolutely Gangbusters now. I Won't tell you much more about if you want to know the details, go over the website linked in down below and you can check it all out.

Now the good thing about Library are just like a bit shoot is that if you're a YouTube content creator, you are mad for not signing up to library and be sued for that matter. You're absolutely crazy. It's completely it's just sign up once completely automatic. What it does is it automatically pulls your videos in from your YouTube channel, including your description, your thumbnail and it pulls it in in full 1080p as well.

And it's just an autumn back up. So like an hour or two later after you publish on YouTube it automatically appears on your library. Channel It's absolutely fantastic. Much better than Shoot, which only pulls in a 480p version.

So for my kind of content like screen captures and detailed tear downs and things like that, it's hopeless. The quality is just not there, but it is there on Library. But here's the part of this video that I wanted to tell you about is how much can you earn or how much do I earn on Library compared to YouTube I've only been doing library TV for like five months or something like that and already check out the numbers. How does it compare to YouTube Okay, so basically if you're an existing YouTube but you sign up if you like me.

If you've got over 500,000 subscribers, you get 40,000 800 lbc all library credits. It's yes, it's a crypto based system, but you don't have to know anything about crypto in order to use it. You don't have to invest in crypto in order to use it. It's completely free open source you can like.
You can completely ignore the crypto part. But of course, from a content creators point of view, that's how you earn your income. It's not from advertising revenue, it's from library credit tips and other sources of library creditors that come in to your account. And then if you want, you can convert those on the marketplace into cash at any time.

So it's you know. look. Based on the current price of 2.6 US cents, we'll get in. This at the moment is basically a thousand and 88.

This is what you'll actually get per year, so it's not a huge amount. But remember, the library credits can actually grow in value. You might have a look at that anyway. So yeah, so right there, off the bat for just signing up.

You actually earn these library credits. So let's go in and have a look, shall we? We will compare my YouTube income for the last month compared to my library channel. Now if we go over to my these are my real stats here I've shown this before exactly how much I've earned on YouTube I might link in at the end if you haven't seen it. it's a couple of years old video now, but it's still completely relevant.

Still, my income hasn't really grown a huge amount, but anyway, here's the last 28 days. Okay, so it's got I earned three thousand, three hundred and Ninety one Yankee bucks with 1.9 million views total. So what we need to do is to convert this to a CPM figure or cost per mil or cost per thousand views or actually revenue per thousand views. How much income to I do I earn per every thousand views? Because my views on my library channel are lower of course on my youtube channel.

but we'll scale it so that then it comes out with the same @ CPM figure. That's just the industry term. so three thousand, three hundred and ninety one Yankee bucks divided by one point nine million divided by a thousand gives me a CPM figure of a dollar seventy eight. US So that's a fairly typical CPM figure for youtubers.

might be lower, might be higher changes during the year with the advertising cycles and things like that, but they're generally accepted. that's a, you know, a fairly typical figure for most youtubers. a dollar seventy eight. Okay, per thousand views.

Let's see how much I earn a library. Now if we go over to my library channel here into my wallet as a content creator, you can see that I've received all of these tips and things like that. So these are for the different videos that I've had the Chinese phone scam which is second channel video exclusive I've got Anna couple of exclusive videos on my library channel. by the way, if you want to see those auto upload in I've got you know X se of a TV blab and so you know look, people have been tipping my channel I got three library credits three too but these are all the same date right? I get hundreds and hundreds of tips per day.
So when people actually view my content and they like it, they decide to tip. So if we go over to some channels here for example, like these are some of the ones that I'm following big Clothes over there and Veritasium, Nurdrage, Minutephysics, Barnacle YZ and you know all sorts of other content creators are on there as well. So let's say we wanted to look at the Ladies Barnacle YZ Nerdgasm video There we go instantly remove all background data from here, etc. etc.

I won't play it but if I liked it I can just go down here and tip and I can just send him 10 library credits and that comes out of my account. There you go send thank you very much. Good on your bar necklace and that's it. And you earn tips from people who like your content.

There are no ads on the content, so it's completely a user driven ecosystem. so you're actually paid by your viewers for producing good content. It's fantastic. Now let's add rubbish, right? So we have to try and work out a CPM figure here.

So if I go over into My Creator Analytics here, you can see that I've had forty-five thousand, Three hundred Ninety-four views in the last. These are weekly figures. Okay, but we'll take a figure of forty five thousand, One hundred and thirty seven because I did the calculations last night. So let's run with so forty-five thousand, one hundred thirty seven views per week times four weeks.

That gives us a hundred and eighty thousand, Five hundred and forty eight views per month. So yes, that is like order of magnitude lower than my YouTube channel. but because this is a new platform it that's still a lot of views. It's really amazing how quickly library is growing, right? So how much do I actually own per month? Well, we have to go into the rewards over here and here's where you can actually are redeem your YouTube Partner creator like for your different channels.

Eevblog, Eevblog - and I've got Eevee discover as well I'm not sure where that one is anyway. Yeah, I've got an extra four thousand, three hundred and eighty-two library credits that I can claim for this month. As you saw these figures over here. it's you know, forty thousand eight hundred per year divided by twelve.

That's how you'll get how many you'll get per month. And this actually comes from Library themselves, as we'll talk about in a minute. And you can actually earn library credits just for watching videos as well. And where those library credits come from? I'll explain that shortly.

But if we go down, look here the claim rewards here we go. Content View tips: So I've earned eleven thousand, two hundred and sixty-six for April April's you know, almost over and then March I got twenty thousand. So I got almost double in March I'm not sure why. maybe because library themselves actually tipped me generously because I did several videos that they liked or something like that.
But February 9,000 729 library credits. So what I'll do is just average three months there. So ten thousand, seven hundred and Fifty eight, Twenty thousand, One hundred, seven, seven, nine thousand, Seven hundred and twenty nine comes out to an average of thirteen thousand, Five hundred and Thirty one that library credits per month. So now we have our incoming library credits per month and we can convert that to a CPM figure.

But we have to add on my thirty four hundred library credits for my particular channel that adjusts for being a large YouTube creator on the library platform. So it's a total of sixteen thousand, Nine hundred and Thirty one library credits per month for a hundred and eighty thousand, Five hundred and Forty eight views. So we you do some little rithmetic are there. and then if you go and look at the library credit price here, it's currently not point zero, Two, seven, two or no point ideas I'm going to put two, Seven one because that's what I did the calculation last night when I looked at this.

So that's how much it's worth in U.s. dollars equivalent at this tie at this particular, you know moment in time. But we'll talk about that. So now we know our income.

Per library credit, we can calculate the CPM figure and I'll overlay the final figure here. it works out to two dollars fifty three U.s. CPM Tada I earn more on library currently than I do on YouTube per one thousand views I don't actually earn more. It's only it's four hundred and fifty eight US dollars a month which is nothing to be sneezed at, but it's You Know, it is a far cry from my thirty three hundreds.

like a little bit less than an order of magnitude less than what I earn on YouTube. But in terms of the CPM figures per view, assuming library keeps still growing, that's only gonna go up and up and up. And of course, if you don't convert the library credits, if you just sit on them, potentially the library credits could go back up. Look, they used to be up up here at like over a dollar.

There used to be like a dollar. twenty if it ever gets back there. And I've done a video as well which I'll link in as well on why I think it's fine I don't say it's going to get back there, but I think library credits have a very good future. So I've done a video specifically on why I think library credits are going to do that.

So go watch that right? So even if it gets back to 50 cents, I would actually be earning more on library right now. Let's just say jump back up to 50 cents I'd be earning more on library right now even within order. makes you less views than I do on YouTube It's amazing. So in terms of CPM I actually earned 42 percent more times.
11.4 two times what I earn on YouTube Winner winner chicken dinner. So I mentioned before that there's multiple ways that you can actually earn income on in library cards. You get it for watching content. You also get a people tipping you.

and you also get the library are creators themselves who created the library system. they've actually I Think that, please correct me I Haven't checked this From my distant memory, they've mine. They've already mined like half the potential available library credits in there sitting there. not just sitting on those, but they're actively using them to encourage new content creators.

So and this, these library credits that you earn here. If you're a Youtuber and you come over, there's forty thousand eight hundred that you might earn per year that actually comes out of their bank. That comes out of their mind. Library Credits.

Now Sure, over the over the coming years this might drop. We just don't know what the system is going to be like in five years time. But the ultimate goal our Library is that you actually get paid by producing quality content which your audience likes. and they fund you by tipping you.

and as you can see like I I just get like every ever since Library TV is launched, I'm just getting dozens, dozens, maybe even a hundred tips per day because as you saw, I'm getting what is it? 80 hundred and eighty thousand views a month on library. It's it's getting pretty big for like a like, oh really, that's only been around library itself I've been signed up for a couple of years, but Library TV is when it really took off because it had a web-based equivalent to YouTube as a competitor. and like that was only like five months ago and already I'm getting 180 I went from 0 to 180 thousand views a month. Amazing by the way.

I Forgot to mention that those are views that I show. there's hundred eighty thousand views per month that's only from Library TV Because it's a decentralized network, you can remain anonymous so it doesn't include views from people who don't sign up to actually share that anonymous data with the server. And it doesn't include people using the desktop apps and things like that. This is just like Library TV Because Library exists as I Hate as a protocol.

just like HTTP is like you know you're typing your HTTP Yep, there's the full address HTTP Actually, Lbr Wire Library is actually another protocol on the internet. just like HTTP is. That's just. that's just the way it works.

And because it's open-source you can write your own apps. Third parties can write apps. So the views I showed are only coming from the data that Library Doctor TV could get from users who decided to share it. So my views could be much more than that.

And yes, Library does have a few issues. There's like some buffering issues and things like that. That gets better because it's decentralized. The more people who view content, it's like a torrent based art system.
the more people that view it, then the more people cede it and things like that. So yeah, but there's a few you know. Occasionally the videos might stutter or something like that. and depending on your location and what, you know, how many other people are sharing that content and stuff like that.

But generally I think it works out pretty well. The comment system is very new. it's in its infancy, but it works and um, and you get notifications. Notifications work unlike YouTube I get notified when anyone.

I follow uploads a I think without fault unlike YouTube I get notified where my new content creators do that. So anyway, yeah, Library I Think is the most promising alternative to YouTube at the most. As I said you, low content quality and I've gone getting no growth there at all. So yeah, I think Libraries true I Love the platform I love the concept I love the decentralized nature of it.

So, but Library: Yes, you could argue. Library TV is actually a centralized, you know website just like YouTube is. But the content is actually on the decentralized, you know, ether kind of thing. So anyway, let's let's have a look.

If you go to Library nah, mix comm here, you can actually see I'm actually the six biggest channel in the world at the moment. I did actually briefly get to number three I think but yeah, a few channels are popped up. There's Veritasium there. let's have a look.

It was great Barclays Sticks, hex and hammer Jordan Peterson Eli The computer guy is there three blue, one brown, a Follow him makes great math type videos. you know the schiffreport like finance type staff, minute videos and so there's lots of cool channels over on, including as I said, lots of electronics channels and as I said, there's lots of other electronics youtubers, big cloves there and the death palms there as well.

He's just a started so 115 followers definitely give him a follow over there. and there's a whole bunch of you know science and electronics content creators on there, so well worth checking out. So there you go. I Hope you liked the video, found it interesting.

    I don't think most people would have a problem with ads if they are done in a non-intrusive way. I do understand Google's interest in suppressing certain types of non-friendly advertising content and blatantly offensive material, but it's an impossible job to effectively police all of Youtube in a fair manner. The need for a viable Youtube competitor is great, but I don't think Lbry in it's current form is it.

    LBRY is a garbage site. To do the simplest thing like up loading a video they ask for personal info like your cell phone number and credit card. And after you do this it's still not enough. You are told to go into some weird chat room and fill out a form that doesn't work. The customer service is not existent just canned pre packaged bull shit talking points. I really really want there to be an alternative to Youtube but I haven't found it yet and this sure as hell isn't it. Their tactics seem very shady. And you're jumping through way to many hoops for such a mediocre low volume site. Not worth it.

    There is still considerable population bias here, most early users of LBRY are people who are more likely to be fans of decentralized systems and thus more likely to support videos by tipping. If most of the Youtube audience would move to LBRY I would expect the CPM to lower, probably significantly.

    What I thought was my weekly view count was actually my total view count! This puts the CPM figure WAY higher for LBC.
