In this video we make an easy way to mount a highlight jack, axe, and shovel to our roof rack on our 1999 Jeep Cherokee XJ.
Were kinda liking this whole video thing and may be able to come out with weekly uploads so subscribe for more!

6 years old and still the only helpful video for this on yt 😂

WHY NOT PUT HOLES IN THE AX AND SHOVEL? THAT WAY TO MAKE SURE IT DOES SLIDE TOO MUCH AND STAY SECURED.

Very helpful as I have the same rack and some 1/4" plate lying around. If your bolt is thick enough you can drill a small hole through it for padlocks. I'm going to use washers and wingnuts, though 🙃

I'm definitely doing this. Thank you!

Looks good, but how fast can you unmount them?

You guys just save me over $150, looks simple enough and looks good!!

  7. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars GabeC says:

Are wing nuts strong enough to hold the high lift to do you have to use bolts?

That axe handle is gonna rot away if you park your vehicle outside

So it has been a while since you posted this. Did anything slide down and smack into your roof? Aside from torquing them down like none other, I didn't see anything to stop that from happening.

Trade that axe for a Pulaski! Way more useful!

Going to get awfully annoying unbolting your axe and shovel when you get stuck

  12. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars bannablitz247 says:

kinda pointless if any time you need those you have to unbolt them…

Good job bro, simple as fuck!!

I would have welded nuts to the back plate and also welded the back plate to the rack because every time you take the ax off you will make the back plate and nuts fall off and it will be a hassle….go get a friend to do the welding for you if you don't have a welder…then all you have to worry about is the bolts getting lost…so carry a couple extra with you….unless you did this just for looks lol.

looks simple enough, dont like it though because when your stuck in the bush, the last thing you want to do is to be playing around trying to unbolt your jack. Not practical for me but thanks for the share!

Looks awesome but when I mounted my jack to my tool box on my truck I used wing nuts because made it a lot easier but idk if that's secure enough up on the roof

easy ya but its gonna be a pain in the ass to get to shit when you want it
