Hi. I just thought I'd show you this for the last time. This is the old Eevee Blog Garage Lab. This is where it all started.
The original benches are still there and uh, for those who remember, there was a bench that also came out here over the car bonnet because uh, we didn't have enough room back then. But uh yeah, it's all. It's all still there. but it is coming down today.
Um, because we're going to get rid of. I think we're going to get rid of, uh, that supplemental bench there and the original, uh, main workbench is actually um, going to is moving oriented that way and it's going to go and be bolted against the wall in there to give us some more space. But I just thought I'd show you one last uh shot at the old Garage Lab and it's got my old, uh, these are all custom made cabinets which I made. I made all those custom made cabinets.
Um, and the shelving. Well, they're not. They're not very impressive. the uh, shelving.
but uh, you know some remnants of the original lights are still there and um, yeah, the original power strips and some of the stuff is, uh, is still there and this wasn't Um, this is after I moved the lab and got the uh, the new, uh, you know, the new commercial, um, office space. I actually, uh, converted this into it. It did have a panel on the end. I've just taken that off uh today.
and yeah, we converted that into just some cupboards where we store various stuff. But yeah, that's it. Um, historical landmark is, uh, coming down I guess. but I thought I'd show you it for the one last time.
Catch you next time.
Oh my, it was so teeny tiny! It's sad to see historical landmarks coming down.
I had my very first workshop in the basement, then moved up to my room and used the basement to do dirty mechanical stuff, then moved my lab to the Book Art Museum where I worked at that time, and then moved it up here to another city. It's far from perfect. Now where do I find some nice dumpster with high end scopes popping up occassionally?
It'll be a lab again before long…….when the boys get their first DMM and soldering iron!
goodbye mate
Yepโฆ memory lane. When you grow (in size too ๐) it evolves, you rip out the build/create new and repeat ๐
Background Noise from your son feels like an Movie where heavy fight appears.
Those cabinets look great! Did you stain the wood aswelll? And router the patterning, etc.? Very cool.
The cabinets look factory made, as far as accuracy and quality go. Great work!
WHAT!!!
Destroying one of the more important Australian Heritage there is :=)
You monsters Grrrrr :p
Rip i just killed the club
And I thought it would be filled with dumpster electronics (like my garage). Anyway, good to see the old place. Change is inevitable, I'm glad it's your lab and not you. You're the same lovable Australian as ever. ๐โค๏ธ๐
curious as to whether you mean:
rest in peace garage lab, or yelling rip! garage lab! – excited to rip it up.
Brings back so many memories
I still have my Rigol DS1052E from those days
Canโt believe Iโve been watching you for a decade.
OG Lab
Yes, I do remember the old lab. Seems like yesterday.
I think HP and Apple made a mistake by not keeping their garage furnishings so make sure you save that stuff for the recreation of the original lab in the future EEVBLOG museum.
All good things must come to an end in the name of progress I suppose.
End of an era. I remember those days well.
this sent me back to have a gander the first few videos ๐
