In this video we do more Jeep mods! The cj has had some flex and suspension play issues for a while now and we figured the best way to address this was to completely swap it out with a rough country shackle reversal kit for our Jeep CJ-7. For the 1999 Jeep Cherokee XJ, we got a Custom 4x4 rear tire carrier bumper and showed how to install an off-road bumper on a XJ.

did you need a longer drive line for the shackle reversal?
Would y’all still recommend this bumper? I like the look of this one compared to other carriers, but I’m wondering if it’s sturdy
It does need Jerry cans on it ! Kinda shields ya from random gunfire from the rear ! Lol
dr. d when drilling one should all ways wear eye protection I have had my eye drilled and it is not fun to get rust out ones eye when steel embeds itself into your eye ball play safe. ps. not a real doctor

Problem with reverse shackles is that when the suspension compresses, the front driveshaft will compress instead of extend and the wheel base shortens too. They are also known for nose diving during hard braking at high speeds.
