Keep up the awesome work Dave! I love to hear little stories about your history in electrical engineering. It gives me hope for myself in the industry!
Great vid to get to know you and your intentions about the channel and blog.Your channel is my favourite on the whole of YouTube ๐ It's informative, fresh and fun!Keep up the good work!!Greetings from Switzerland
Dave, you where misinformed about Robert Murray-Smith. He is a working scientist and his science is the no bullshit real stuff. He comes across as a genuinely nice guy with an infectious enthusiasm for a large range of subjects. He has the ability to pass on the hard sciences in a way that is easy to watch and all too rare. He doesn't need me to big him up though, a few minutes on his site will tell anyone the story. 51,000+ subs is another pointer! He was hard done by your erroneous summary, please check for yourself before repeating it.
I build a power/signal cable for a surgical tool. Have been building this cable for nearly a decade. We still use lead solder, for all the reasons Dave mentions. I have an utter disgust for lead free solder, and am so grateful for the exemption on the product I build. Lead acid batteries and CRTs are actually the densest concentrattion of lead in electronics, and there are already extensive battery recycling programs, and when did you see your last new CRT? Lead in solder is such a small percentage of lead in electronics. I have ALWAYS bought leaded solder, and will do so for as long as it's available. Then I'll stockpile when they say that will disappear. ๐
Once you go through a war when people slauthered each other because of religion, you tend to stay away from that kind of bullshit. Funny thing is, not many people that have gone through the same war share my view, quite contrary. Darwin is stillย my last hope for sorting themย ๐
Regarding your comments on fundamentals Friday: thank you! I have learnt heaps from them. The op amp one was especially helpful for me when I first got into electronics (like a lot of people seem to do – for audio stuff!)
And Ave was trying to use you to cross mingle subs…..well most of your subs wont like him and most of his subs won't like you since they sub to him just for the trash talk. Ave has an education and a brain but his channel is not built around the tech talk its the trash talk during the tech.
It was actually @Jeri Ellsworth who got me watching your channel all those years ago, and I'm still here. ๐ Cheers to both of you!
you have to try VR[1], once you've tried it, it would be interesting to hear your opinion afterwards ๐
[1] ideally the room-scale HTC Vive, at the least the Oculus CV1

New mic Dave?
So… North Korean watches eevlog too?
I most commonly catch "Keep your stick on the ice" from the Canadian comedy "The Red Green Show". Canadian comedy meets duct tape "engineering"! XD
Dave, Thank you for doing this live vid. I LOVE IT. Very cool to have you going back and forth with the fans and riffing on all kinds of topics!
hello, I admire their work and knowledge and how to pass this information to us.
Thank you Dave! Thumb up!!! Go to hell haters!

I thought it was pretty insane that "Smarter Everyday" actively promotes ignorance at the end of each video.
Why do you assume we read a forum? This is Youtube……..

I suppose the the old dart doesn't mean Dublin Area Rapid Transport (DART).
I really liked this format.

Hello
"Smarter Every Day" religion and Science do not belong in the same time zone………..
Are you doing this live from your new Altium place?
When are you going to do a tour??
