And what happens if you didn't press yes? does it not put you on until you press yes I No I ignored it and it just went away.

Oh so that was my fair warning to get out of here. So if I wanted to, yeah, got it and that and that's why the countdown. So you probably had the 10 seconds right? Oh I need to mute myself again. There we go.

Let me try the address on its own. There we go. Right now it had something appended to the end of the URL and that was causing the chat window not to show up so I can actually so this is. well, this is our second test because we were playing around with the first test and this is our first.

T wanted to see, wanted to see where all the comments went. All the comments went and we figured out that all of the comments in the live hang on I'm going to Tweet this this is the direct link to my live stream now on YouTube Boom Excellent. So yeah. um so apparently there's a if you go to the direct video address which is Youtube.com/watch Markv equals blah blah blah blah blah.

then you'll see a chat window on the right side and like a live comment. but it's actually not a chat window. it's a live comment window where all of the comments will appear on the saved video later which is comments as as comments. and if you do an hour show, there could be thousands of them.

Um, oh, you'll have to go back and edit those right? And I can pop out the chat window too. I can pop out as a separate, uh, separate little pop out that's handy. Now how's the video quality? Can anyone who's live in the YouTube watching on YouTube as opposed to Google Plus Because we're actually using Google+ here? that is the mechanism. but then it feeds it.

Um, somehow I've been given the uh, the honor of uh, being able to live broadcast my YouTube my Google+ feeds onto my or hangouts onto my YouTube channel. It's too many buzzwords here. Can't keep up. Oh man, what's the Ti? 3:52 I Was supposed to be home after lunch I Can't believe nobody else has jumped in here.

Yeah on the Google on the Google Plus Yeah because apparently you can just join I don't even have a say in it I you just join up to I think they still have a maximum of 10? Yeah, but you made it public, You made it public. Oh okay, right. if you if you make it private, you have to invite individually who's allowed to join it. Got it? Trap for young players shows I haven't used uh Google+ much hang out much but yeah this is.

this is cool. So not only are we live on Google hang out, we're live on my YouTube like front page my YouTube channel page and it's really and it's recording there and it's recording there so it opens up a whole new dimension. So but the quality I don't quality is not as good as you stream I don't think so on YouTube Yeah, it's not as good as you stream, but it's a damn site better than what I'm seeing on the hangout window. Yes, it is better.

Yeah it's better than Google Hangout but it's very block like the frame rate. Like if I just sit still then the quality is actually quite good. But the frame rate is terrible. So if you move the camera then it all starts starts to uh go all pixelated because um it's you know because it it has to fit the video in the bandwidth so it compresses it more and goes all pixelated.

and but when I sit still it's quite sharp so it's quite neat. and so what are you going to use this for? I I don't know I Finally just discovered it. Well I was going to do a 300th live show on Monday morning my time um and I was going to do it using Ustream but now I've discovered my it's like I could potentially get a lot more people viewing it I've got a massive YouTube audience who just watch my YouTube channel like they don't know my you know my blog exists, my Forum exists and my, you know, live other my Ustream account exists and all that sort of stuff so they would presumably get a message. um, as soon as I start live, if they're subscribed to my channel, And subscribe to my YouTube uh updates then they should I presume, get an instant message.

Um, that's why as soon as I upload a new video to YouTube within like a second of it finished with upload and being like broadcasting it out, people start watching it. like within 10 seconds there's like 50 people who are watching it and I can see the count just go up bang bang bang because these people are subscribed to my uh YouTube channel list so they a message. Well the YouTube may not broadcast that new video message until you stop broadcasting and it saves it and does the conversion right. That could be the case.

Um, so there's another test you'll have to do. Yep, but you could Twitter it you could tweet it I mean oh yeah yeah, I could. but not everyone listens to my tweets so wellam yeah uh I Thought this had told us how many people were viewing. Uh, six people have liked it.

Six six people who have liked the live video. So it looks like you can like it live. that's there I liked it. Oh excellent.

I haven't seen the update yet. Somebody just I joined the last one because I saw it on my YouTube homepage. Mark Lee said oh right. So they did get the announcement.

Where was that comment? It's on the YouTube page. Ah, the the live comment. You got to pay attention. D Oh, hang on.

I I didn't have the automatic update thing on I didn't have auto updates on so it wasn't be. Someone says beautiful Tristan says beautiful quality on YouTube someone else says 480p quality. Yeah, well. if I move the camera, there's lag here.

But if I I'm just going to continually move the camera and I think you'll find that the quality drops now. I'm started. there's about 10 second lag there now. I Can see the live update on YouTube of me panning but think the quality is not that great if you put movement into it.

But uh I can't judge mine because the light is horrible I wasn't I wasn't expecting to do this. so you get what you get. um someone's yeah. other people said the V video quality is great in Arlington Texas you YouTube stream is good.

Video quality is good. Everyone says it's good, not good, but not great. I would say good Yeah I would say absolutely acceptable. Okay, but uh Zar who was in the uh Ustream one says it's the the update rate's not great, the frame rate's slow.

so yeah well you know it's a get it's a you get what you pay for it kind of. Yeah right system. You can buy really really good frame rate. my maybe if I um head on over to the local Google uh headquarters here in Sydney I can uh there you go open yeah I I can sit outside and hack into the Wi-Fi in the building I've I've been to their building a couple of times.

yeah, see somebody just messed. Same thing. video quality you stream great YouTube good Google Hangout Poo yeah I'd say it I wouldn't watch this hangout video. No that that would be aggravating.

but um, it'll be interesting when I actually play this back because I haven't you know I haven't played back one of these recordings yet. So I suspect uh oh I'm still playing it back I'm playing back the First Recording we have in a window there should shut that down. That's dumb. So has that showing up on my video list yet? so the hangout video. You can't read it at all. Well that that's probably acceptable because hang out you would want. um, you would want you know as fast an update rate as possible so you can see people talking.

You know you can see their lips live and you know. So so if so, if we're got a hangout with 10 people and you're because I'm I'm not talking to the live audience. Sorry for all my all my regular viewers who are watching this because we we had I had no intention of doing this I going Live on YouTube and and actually saving it and uh, saving it to my channel. So uh but we just discovered that we had the capability because I always wanted it and I thought you had to be a special invite or something like that to to be able to go live on your own YouTube channel Um well that's what I thought too. That's why I was surprised you're able to do this at all.

So but it does open up some great possibilities. I mean uh and if and if the quality is decent I can you know it automatically saves it to my YouTube Channel which is great I don't have to save it local and then edit it and then and then uh well that's a double-edged sword. Well there may be stuff you don't want on there and you can't go. edit it up I can't all I can do is hit the delete button and uh well.

I know actually maybe there is a way to download it I can download Yeah I can uh there is a way for me to yes Here here we go. Yes, I can download the MP4 of the video that's been uploaded to to my YouTube channel. so I'd have to download it, delete it, edit it, re-upload. Um, because yeah, that's GNA happen.

Really? Yeah. YouTube's really annoying it. it doesn't let you re-upload a video over the same video you know? So so if you're making so if I make a goof in a video I've got to delete it and then I lose all the hype I use I lose the URL to it I use lose all my stats comments everything. you know it's just it's hopeless.

Yeah, that would be pretty lousy, but I can understand why they do it I Think they do it so that you can't circumvent the uh, the automated copyright check. You know, because when you upload a video YouTube have all these super duper secret algorithms that check the video and the audio if it's got any copyrighted content. and right, these very smart algorithms and uh, presumably um, you can. uh oh, somebody said you can edit on YouTube yes you can, but I don't think you can chop out bits.

um thought you could just do overlays and you can do overlays and you can touch up change the contrast and yeah, I I tried it once. that was horrible I tried it with one of my walk time rant videos and uh I set the image Shake I turned on the image Shake thing. oh yeah I'll I'll try it you know and uh and it it it was crap. it, didn't work and apparently you've only got like 24 hours to change your mind and revert back.

After that it, you can't revert back to the old edit. it just locks it in there. So now I've got this video on YouTube that has this horrible zoomed in automated. AE Shake Thing YouTube It's history.

it's archive. Yeah, you don't want to be a revisionist. Now that's right. You haven't done a a walking thing in quite a while, have you? no I haven't No.

I've been meaning to. Um, I've had a few things in mind of what I wanted to yap on about. but yeah, I don't know. I'm too lazy.

Um, now the Google Plus is pretty good. I mean as far as the lag goes on the Google+ window, that's one of its positives. Is that? Yeah, probably like a half half half second lag or something. but when you do something in the The Hangout screen, it's like three to four seconds before I See it over on the YouTube stream.

Yeah, it's I I Think mine's about, mine's closer to 10 seconds or something. and uh, well, that makes sense. It's got to come all the way over here, then go all the way back there to you Exactly. Got to: I I Don't know how there's enough bandwidth on this planet? I Really don't you know? Well, you listen to a lot of them talk that we're not even using a fraction of what's actually in the infrastructure, right? Amazing.

Because from this whole country, we've only got like a dozen fibers going out or something. You know we, we don't have that many going out to the rest of the world. It's uh, it certainly isn't thousands of fibers. it's You know, it's only like a dozen or so.

I think we've got two or three main trunk lines running out of this country. One to you know, seever, two to several parts of Asia one to somewhere else and and each one's got like, you know, half a dozen fibers in it or something. I Would have guessed the fair amount of the traffic with satellite to down there. Um, yeah, satellite satellite's not as quick though.

Satellite is very slow. Um, you satellite's much slower than the direct fiberlink. Well, I guess that makes sense. Mil miles are Miles Yep, they just add up.

well. I'm guessing that we did not facilitate Kelly getting connected. No, that's that was a fail. Uh I don't even know if she can hear us or not.

To you know, say well, you know you've done 90% of the work.

Now we have to do the other 10% to get the thing out the door. and uh, there. no one around pushing you to do that. So yeah, well, the whole Valve thing I I just can't fit in my head how it will would all work, you know? Well everybody's even okay.

What if somebody's got to get fired, How does that work? If okay, somebody gets sexually harassed at work and they're going to sue somebody whose name goes on the longest of you. It hangs up all the time on me and all sorts of stuff. It's pain in the ass I' I've just noticed I'm miss tweets on it I mean I I I have a tweet app on my smartphone and it was just yesterday I Noticed that there were tweets listed in on my smartphone that weren't on tweet deck. Wow so it's like tweet deck just missed them. Completely miss the stuff.

Nasty. Yeah! I gave up using tweet deck on my phone. it was giving me two I couldn't post it was it was hopeless. So I'm now using just the HTC app or something.

Um yeah yeah I don't use tweet deck I use some other thing thing I don't remember what it's called but it's a nice little app. mine actually uh, mine is the general. uh mine is the official Twitter app. I think for Android or something something like that.

Well I knew the capacity was coming I just didn't think regular PE well maybe regular people aren't Dave is a special case so well I'm a YouTube Partner but apart from that I'm pretty small fry in the scheme of scheme of YouTube oh I don't know I I think you're in the the upper tiers yeah I think there there there's the people that have like like me that have like three followers and then there's the people that have couple of hundred and then there's everybody else that you know. Yeah! I think my my YouTube page I have 17 people subscribed to it I'm yeah I'm rocking it compared to Dave right exactly how many subscribers you have now Me: yeah oh I had 23,500 something my gosh oh small here we go. I I'll I'll I'll share my screen hang on as much as we do like looking at Kelly it's much better looking than us us guys I shall share here we go screen share and I will screen share my desktop share selected window.

We're up to 27 views on that. 19 thumbs up. 104 comments on that previous video we but um YouTube uh, stats are notoriously bad. They like stop at 300 for for a day or two and then they jump up and they're uh, they they sort of race to 300 in know about 10 minutes of me uploading a video and then it hangs there and uh, well, there were all those other people on G+ saying they wanted to join.

I'm not seeing anybody pop in, there's nothing stopping them so may maybe they all just figured out. Oh I have to load this application to make this work right? Yeah, it wasn't just some magic web HTML thing. I'm very trusting so uh I'll download anything here we go I think I've got up the YouTube video editor now have I where's my yeah, my hangout window I'm in the oh, you're still viewing the SC holy crap that's that's cool infinity window so in in the video I can't uh oh oh I'm playing a video. so I'm playing a video in a screen capture in a live broad hang which is going back into YouTube That's insane.

It's multitasking at its finest. I was saying in the previous video that I had five video streams going at once I had three sorry, two, two outgoing video streams plus three incoming video streams on my Uh Channel which was on on my Um internet connection here which is crazy but so you were using. you were using eight of those uh 12 fiber cables going into a right Yeah, that's it. Boom.

Screen share is gone but uh, this is really cool. We can share Google documents and we can add an app. What What sort of apps can we add? What's hangout? lower third. Oh if you have a look at the Uh apps tab along along the top of the thing there actually I will what I will do Kaku that sounds uh, dirty or something I don't know right? Hang on.

I can't really get a shot of itself I need a mirror? um but it's on what of these little tall stand things and the and the cable is so you know heavy compared to the stand that if you know it just pulls the thing over just Falls over. if you don't anchor the uh, anchor the cable down somewhere. it's really annoying.

so well all they're moving around has totally pixelized pixelized your your hangout screen. y it's a mess. It's a awful quality isn't it? It's just terrible. So I I think it's okay.

It seems to be better quality on the YouTube recording which is good so sacrificing resolution to make it as real time as they can, right? Yeah, dude. yeah. if you yeah, if you download the data sheet for the switch used in it, it's that's what it says. You know, switch rating is like 200 Mill or it might be like 300. but I lowered the spec or something just to you know.

So so you could go higher. Um, but well if you lowered it, they probably lowered it so it's actually a half an amp. Yeah, it could probably do half an app. Yeah, exactly.

but if your multimeter doesn't have a high enough output voltage on the diode test function, you won't be able to turn on the Uh leads. So yep, you have to tell us what sort of multimeter you got too. Well see it in the video of course. But yes, I'll take care of it.

But yeah, if so, use, use the Diode test mode. So if put around to Di test mode, put the lead both ways and the leads should light up. If they don't, that means your multimeter is not capable of um of uh, it hasn't got the output voltage required to turn on an LED Are they white? LEDs because they got a higher voltage drop than tried all I I have red ones Yellow Ones white ones It's very rare that a multimeter won't light up a red lead. It's very rare.

Yeah, okay, true. I'll show you what I'm doing I'll show you what I'm doing and um hopefully you can help me. Yep, no worries. but the white are it's It's quite common for a multimer not to White up light up a white lead cuz they only turn on at like you know 2 point they they well they have a voltage drop I Don't want to use the wrong terminology and confuse you because you know they they don't Leads are current driven.

they're not voltage driven so they you lost me at voltage so that's how new I am Great Oh boy. All right so please please send it to me and I'll have a look at it all right?
