Dave was looking forward to reviewing the new Extech RC200 SMD Tweezer Multimeter, until the damn thing tried to kill him. Now he's, well, kinda mad!...

And yet, he lives. . .tsk tsk, maybe next time. He he.
Don't read manual. Use product incorrectly. Blows up. Blame product. Got it.
IF MORE AUSSIES HAD READ THE MANUALS….THEY NEVER WOULD HAVE KICKED YOU OUT OF ENGLAND.
Extech is pure junk!!!
LOL
A friend of mine, back in the late eighties, had a cheap analog meter blow up in his hand while working on mining equipment. Third-degree burns on a couple of fingers, his palm, and a hospital visit. I'd say he left it on the ohms scale, and he hit 440 VAC with it, but they shouldn't blow like that. Good ones are fused with a way for the gas to escape.
12 years later and I'm back to watch it. Did anything happen with this? Did they admit there was a design flaw?
Thats our Dave in a nutshell… love the enthusiasme.
I bought one of these before this rant and never had a problem. But I believe in RTFM and common sense. Really? Do you plug your meter probes in part way? Do you use a 1x scope probe for mains voltage? It is not FOOL proof. Did Extech respond?
Yeah unfortunately, EXTECH is on the garbage side of equipment..I am surprised that you called it "a big brand"…big would be METRAHIT…for lower end, Amprobe has never disappointed!
pffff, to this day, this is just another tuesday on elctroBoom land
Just realised this is a 11 year old video
Did extech get back to you ?
My annual visit to this review never fails to to entertain me.
trying to kill me 😆😆😆
I love your enthusiasm you legend
Actually, the photo showed it measuring 120 volts, not 240.
I was thinking a guy could replace the passives, but with that hole in the chip, it is cactus.
Wow, this might be the oldest video I've seen on here. The funny thing is, the only thing that changed seems to be the intro and the general lab 😄
can dave take his new camera back in time to do the instant close-ups?
It's unusual to see Dave getting annoyed at something.
My analogue meter never blew up on high voltage on any range and nether should any multi meter since there should be fuses to stop that from happening.
I had pretty bad experience with Extech – both product quality and customer service. I would not recommend it to anybody.
