I I have the Battle Damage Ah what you do Oscar poor posture. somebody helped by kidding human car six years ago. Ah wonderful. It's a good story, but not new this year like I can I'm okay guys.

he's okay. he's okay. he can still run make affair. It's all right.

And we've got two holes today. Yes! So unlike last year to answer your question, you have this today. you don't have the Turing for this year. we've actually got our a big exhibition from the Science Museum in London a Collider which is in there.

so we're back to our kind of regular configuration to being spread across India mainly in the Powerhouse Learning Center in level two and in the Paul and Trans before level ones cause the cluster together All right. We're gonna have fun now. He did promise me there was a lanyard with my name on it, but it must be written in invisible ink. anyway.

Good thing is I can label up myself call myself anything I want I don't know Lords r EV Blood hmm I Suspect they have some assembling to do. Hmm they've got a lot of wood and stuff. ed better hurry. Come on.

Still making their signs on the spot and let's sneak in the back entrance. Here we go Well says museum entrance but it is actually the back entrance and the Sydney Science festival is on. I Definitely want to visit some stuff. There's some very cool stuff happening at the Sydney Science Festival The Maker Faire of course is part of it.

There we go. Sydney Mini Maker Faire It's still a mini. still a mini. Oh it's a nice chandelier.

Anyway, let's go check it out. We're in the turbine hall yet again the awesome turbine hall with the planes and it's a few people setting up. Let's go check it out. Yes to all d people.

keV Hey guys, I'll be back and are we in sight? Yes we are inside. Here is where they're going to have the talks and to them more space stuff as you seen last time. still here I think I Took you on a tour of that last time. All right, lots of unpacking to be done over there.

Check it out! James I So you're from the makerspace? Yes. Are they sorry robots and dinosaurs? Yeah. Yep. With Gab there he is.

Everyone knows Gap and look at James Gave me for a tener a cig thermal camera for seek thermal camera if it focuses. No poor video blogging here anyway. it is a sick thermal camera for Androids Awesome! And what's wrong with that data people are the data minus pin on the Androids. the PCBs if it's just gone so it's gone blue I Tried to get a working but I just couldn't So yeah.
all right thank you very much. Tear down time and to prove that Gab has no life where he's nice. he found these a found extruded Elliot tell us extruded aluminium Eliezer on ebay was like 300 kilos of extruded aluminium in Melbourne It was like it was a fifth of the price that you normally pay for it. so he drove to Melbourne you get we got we rented van drove down Melbourne cut the 6 meter links into two meters to fit in a van.

We're racing the rain because like accounts or in the rain the saw is overheating. So we like cut, cut, cut Break Great cut, Cut cut, break load it all up and then I made more of my tool shelving which I have p it posted a link to you've got a blog on how to build them Yes I zoom that a link is going to hover over the text right now it will hover over the text Yes you think I can do that I think I do third party links James's 3d printer. yeah I'm just worrying up the LEDs on the front. Yep and the case.

there are sexy case it went in Jan can't show you what's to pornographic so not sleep alert. Nice work. mmm so symbolism. so is that your own designer? the printer and I bought this from Hobbyking but if the modifications the PI 0 the web connectivity, steel nozzle, heated bed.

that's all that's all yours. All modifications right? Nice work and look who I ran into fellow blogger Mick Oh hang on poor video blogging this light behind you. Oh there you go. Mick from Mick Mike Yes, tell us about your channel.

Well look, my channel is a fairly small channel so you just start up recently. I'm trying to get electronics into the market as much as possible. so after the person who is starting out who doesn't know very much of that electronics, that's the sort of person I'm aiming at. So trying to get very very sort of condensed and easy to learn and so anyone can pick up.

Awesome! And you've got like 30 odd videos up there? Yeah, 30 odd videos yet? Yeah, I've got I've well mostly reviews but also do so how to's mainly how to's on for example my Life. One of my last videos was How To Build They learn a driver assists braking system nice which is built from an old set of scales Arduino and audio amplifier. cool will link in your channel down below. Oh yeah, thanks very much day.

Check it out and Mick has a 360-degree camera and you're going to get a ton of footage from this. So if you want some real show footage, check out mixed video and his side. I'll link it in. Absolutely.

There's Maddie from Little Bird Marcus is coming tomorrow? yes and they've got the sand thing back. Awesome. Well Shands not in there yet. Phyto it is in there.

Okay, but you didn't fill it up because it's real expensive stuff. So yeah. my panel. oh okay.
cool. they're all right. So let's head on up and see where there's Robbie the robot. There we go and let's head on up.

Oh, we got these weird and wacky things hanging from the roof, but let's I probably shouldn't be walking up these escalators with the knee and here we go and we're on this level and maybe the one up. Anyway, let's go in and see if the Apple one is still here, shall we? Why not? It's getting some stock footage. Where's the Apple one? Where's the Apple One? Hop there it is. it's Mac Apple to a mouse.

Look it's a mouse and there it is. Oh Lawyer the Apple one. Whoa. look at that.

Beautiful in a custom briefcase got external there and cassette tape. brilliant wonder if it still works I Really have to do a separate video on this. but I said that several times. Have an eye.

so the original owner of course has put it into a briefcase and but that is an original Apple one. I Don't know what's it worth? Half a million bucks? Something like that. If you put it up to auction today, it would be highly sought-after There's not many of them left, but that is an original Apple one and guarantee it. And there you go.

Classic double sided lay out. all the traces on the top going horizontal and all the traces on the bottom. You can bet your bottom dollar would be going vertical or most of them anyway. Whoo! Apple one.

and bonus points. If you can name what this is, check out what! I Found Analog Computer Eai 6680 It was originally a part of an stay which is our nuclear laboratory from the University with modules from the University of Queensland But check it out. All analog computer goodness for you analog computer aficionados. Fantastic! Look at the patch panel.

Wow. wow, that's impressive I'd love to open it for you and look at the some analog control goodness down in there but it's all pallid it up and chai who don't know why. Um anyway. oh nothing interesting on the back.

Bummer. I Think it's going into an exhibit perhaps? or is it already here because it's surrounded by some weird stuff for you outfit aficionados. I Anyway, it's going to be in here again this year, so it is more. Yep, they're setting up so 3d printers and other jazz.

Yeah, just slowly getting through it and it's just opened and then comes the queue. It looks like bit scope have teamed up with Element14 is a bit scope rack we saw last time. Bwd doesn't get any better than that. Ladies Low 40 Is that all? Oh yeah.

Made in Australia Beauty Ellsbury Group Good and the Innovators Club G'day Ah UAV that that's seen. It's got a few battle scars and that's creating New South Wales Uni of New South Wales and the Electric Vehicle Association is here again with their V's that we've seen in previous years. Cute happy hour t-shirt winning shirt but make a space and Co and one of their makers who isn't here today is like this do they ever work name I Guess Mono will or something and there you go. Brilliance! Wonder how practical they are in terms of riding I don't know.
Looks fun though. you've seen in before and runs diffusion radio and if you haven't subscribed to his podcast, do so and he's God he's in. the plants tell us about. So these are insect eating carnivorous plants and we have sticky plans and pitfall traps and snap traps.

Oh so we've got but awards over here that are sticky. You can see the insects stuck to the leaves, a little black spots the writers. Yep, we've got a different sort of sticky. one over here.

This is a key. Nice. Andrew Prosser Re Jiya these are present Ike No, this is not Australian but I do have something from I Think this one's actually from Britain so the leaf actually bends on these ones as bride wraps itself, no wrap itself around. These are the North American soil ones, but they're also tropical ones over here.

This year's in peace. The tropical ones. and they're both pitfall traps, right? Different tribes. Oh, that's got a waxy certainty.

But what it is is these ones over here. The Sarin: Senia These are downward pointing hairs of insects will follow. Yes, they've got nicked up on the lip. They're here so the insects will feed on the nectar and then they go into waxy slippery areas.

Don't fall in. yep, there's water inside and they drown in your water. If the wood is more wet water, it's got extra enzymes in there and it digests them. These ones are sticking in the same way.

I'm here with Anthony from the Union New South Wales and which is the Maker group. Ride the Create group. Yep and they're all here Anyway, he's going to tell us about this. UAV So this is our entrance to the UAV Arthur Killed.

Unfortunately, it's been covered in duct tape because you're a bit of an accident last. Tuesday Um, but do bad landing? do tell? Yeah, look at the look of the prop there. So we just kind of got duct tape out put back together for today. Beautifully bodged I Like it.

Nick is still fly, no worries. Pretty cool case with him. So the concept is a foot plane so but it can take off the landing and also board flight so the vertical takeoff and landing will ask you to land the plane in confined areas mm-hmm and scored place for long distance pretty much so anyone. A two-stroke motor and the electric motors 11 light light of my clothes right? Is there any interference here between the excuse my lack of aerodynamic knowledge but air flow between the ones that the tube there to road is here and the of main and the main props for soda.

So personally armed with when the air clean does glow the both back here is actually the back road is that can line up straight. Brian is like literally very little bit occurrence. Oh I got interesting thing right now quite worried about it. cream Lord Show Billy yeah yeah okay so just line up.
Hopefully Brilliant was alright and it worked. Yeah get it back in the air she'll be right it'll it'll fly with duct tape and the one wings a bit crooked but well you can compensate for that in flight after the god. No worries. Thanks thank you very much.

I'm here with Lorenz He's from the Union yourself and he's got something really cool to show us. Tell us about this. Lawrence So this is a Bulova Accutron watch below being the manufacturer. yeah, it in the United States in the 60s the first electronic watch early or late 60s.

think it's 64 64 and this is an original original. yeah and one of the first for the first watch manufactured with a transistor. Wow in what package I wonder was the transistor back then? Can we physically safe? It's just you can see it under there. sorry I can't get any closer to this I Might try and take a macro photo but to include but this is original and you've had it restored.

and it uses a tuning fork. Yep, so there's a tuning fork that runs the length of the watch. Yeah, driven by two coils in an oscillating circuit which drives the very angry at around 50 hertz so that you get that very smooth sweep. Nice.

that is beautiful. End of these rare or what? Sure, there's a few of them hanging around it right. Quite hard to get one working. Ok and and does it have a like a it was this.

like are there different models or is this like so one original model. Originally these were produced as a skeleton versions to see the mechanism as a demo and workshops. Oh yeah I reckon I have a face Oh I can't save it. have a face over everything but it's much sexier without a place.

so a lot of this. I'm not sure if this was originally a face one, but a lot of conversions happened right too. Wow make anything that is fantastic. So where do I get one can I hunt for one on ebay ebay right now.

Okay, you've got on eBay Nice work Thanks Rita sets Bruin.

The Xerox Alto you showed was the first computer I used fresh out of university in 1981 when I started at Xerox in Palo Alto. Wonderful machine. So little overall memory that the display bitmap memory was used for symbol table storage during compiles. You'd see the screen display bit patterns during one pass of the Mesa compiler.

Those Bulova watches were worn by military pilots and were in the space program as that electronic mechanism did not loose time under heavy G loading.
