The first Live EEVblog event - unedited.
Dave short circuits his wife's laptop and cuts the feed, proving that anything can happen live.
The audio sync is not the best, sorry, minor file conversion issues. And the last bit is supposed to be crap quality video that freezes due to the crap wireless connection.
It'll be better next time, this one was only a trial.
Sorry, no overlayed chat, it was too hard to sync the raw text with the video. The video grab got lost in the laptop confusion.

Maxwell's Equations are NOT "boring as bat-shit". The problem is that most Australian Engineering students simply don't have the maths skills! Just saying!…. (OK – I used to teach electromagnetism at Uni!)
Ahh, remember this as if it were yesterday! Great show!
I wonder if Dave's only allowed sippy cups at home now?
Watching this five years later while sitting at work at Asus work and scanning the service manuals as we go. Water deaths are so common right now. Nothing worse than milk though as that seems to eat boards in under a couple of hours.
Why on earth would you blow it? You were panicked, I get it, but…
Very informative as per.
there will probally be a screw left over but it should work!
so its a geek electronics show? lmfao love your channel
what do you mean by "glitch"?
Back to the Future Fan HUH.. let's see
I was born in 1973 and also grew up on back to the future
now.. be honest
have you noticed the glitch in Back to the future
yes or no
if no.. email me on bto4u@bigpond.com and i'll tell you
i noticed it when i was in 3rd grade and thought i was crazy, had to rewind a few times on the video, but finally confirmed the glitch
let's see if your a true fan LOL
53:50 was sooooo funny I started cracking up at 53:50 and finished laughing only after 55:10. I was blue in the face and my abs were aching.
*BONK* "Wooo, s*it … spillage, water spillage. Hang on *wohoo* we have an emergency!"
Anyway nicely recovered Dave.
PCB on the front of the magazine? So much better than a demo disk.
I told you not to do this live blog when I'm at work! GWAHHHHHHH! ๐
@EEVblog LOL, I'd bet your wife is not that evil! ๐
Important lesson here:
Electronics Workbench + Water = Trouble
One more reason I prefer cola bottles… ๐
I missed this?? Not cool! ๐
UPDATE: Cubeee the laptop survived. I'm out of the dog house!
@ubuntututorials
Many vents on the bottom of the unit, and it spilled on the keyboard too.
Haha. ๐ Well it was a good show anyway. ๐ But you should really have instantly removed the battery and left it in the sun to dry. The laptop probably was worth more than one live show ๐
How did water get in?
dave says batshit. yay!
lol, instead of breaking a leg on your live debut, you broke your wife's laptop XD
