Hi I'm at the 2015 Tough Bloke Competition as farmers who had to happen south of Sydney and I've got the new Pebble Time Smart Watch. I've got a control watch to test it that's a Timex 1440, but we're going to beat the crap out of it in the Tuft Bloke challenge. We've got about uh, 8 kilometers of mud and crap and obstacles. 27 obstacles total and we'll see if it survives 30 meters.

Water resistant? Yeah, I don't know. It's got a uh. it's got a one piece enclosure with a glued on front face so we'll see if it survives. Let's give it a go.

Everyone knows Roger Hey, and he's got his uh hero before, so we'll get some footage from that too. Let's do it. And as I showed in the previous video, if you get it at the right angle to the sun, it really is quite bright. It's excellent.

but uh yeah, you get away from the sun and well, yeah, it's not that terrific. And yes, I'm going to be using the stopwatch. We'll give it a go, but I think I'll have to go back to the main screen though because I'll end up like pushing the buttons on the obstacles and everything. Freezing cold water time.

Let's go. let's go. Raj. Here we go again.

Fantastic! That was a little bit chilly. it survived. So does this thing have any fitness tracking stuff? Probably. Well, it doesn't have a uh heart rate sensor though and well, let's put it under water.

No worries, look at that. Give me a break. it's much harder. One-handed Got the old tire carry.

I think it's still going fun. Great day for it. This is too easy. should have taken two, but then holding the camera's a bit hard.

Might as well. There we go. There we go. Hey there we go.

Cleaned it off Fantastic. And again there we go. Sliding way surviving. Not too bad.

so far. I'm at rudder depth. Rudder depth to be cold. There we go.

Look at that. Here's the real test. One foot deep mud under razor wire. My arm's about one foot deep in mud.

There we go. My camera just fell in the mud and lilac. Check this out. Where is it? Where's the watch? I don't know.

I could have lost. it. isn't this fun. It looks like chocolate, but it definitely isn't.

That's a good thing. Look at this fish. Wow. Look at that.

Unbelievable. That was insane. I think it's still on. Man, There we go.

Still working. The record button on my camera is stuck on. well. it's certainly passed that test of mud and crap.

and while it's still going, I don't think I dare press the buttons and check it out. We just went through sawdust. fantastic down the tire. As we go, we're still going.

It's a boy still ticking. Oh wow. Here we go. There, You go there we go.

Let's see if the stopwatch still works. Let's see if the timing thing agrees. No, the button doesn't work as long as you have registered and you've got your number on to your t-shirt and we're going to take off the Rfid timing tag. So there you have it.

That was the tough Bloke 2015. And look at this. The Pebble Time actually survived just fine. It's a bit, uh, crusty on the back here.
There's been a gunk down in the gold pins down in there. That's one of the disadvantages of this. It could certainly, uh, and like you know, skin and oil and crap just from the regular use spitter that seemed to sound like the button. It's really, it was quite hard to press the button when I uh got back.

in fact. Yep. there we go. It's a little bit hard, so all the gunk, you can see all the gunk in the buttons and crap.

But yeah, it. um, it survived relatively intact time. I'm actually uh, quite impressed. Although you know I kind of expected it to survive.

but still, it's It's pretty good. and that was like sunk like one foot down in mud and crap and and uh, in little waterfalls and pools. Freezing cold water as well and not a problem. So winner now is tear down time.

Catch you next time you.

    I just got my pebble time today, and I dropped it. Will it be ok? It landed on the back and not the screen, and it seems to have no scratches on the back. When I picked it up there was just a little bit of dirt from the wood flooring that I brushed off. Does anyone think the thump sound was from the metal watch band? Idk it seems to be ok. Plz respond if you have a pebble and have been in a similar situation. Thx.

    Dave, you should to re-test the watch after 1-2 years using, or regularly using on water, let we see the sticky front panel still do the job..

    If you really want to destroy the watch just throw it to a rock.

    was the pebble microphone still working? did any mud block the microphone hole?

    In the US there are similar obstacle course things called Tough Mudder competitions… they're a bit more insane than this one seems to be.  Like at one part you have to run through a bunch of hanging live wires which will give you a serious shock.

  13. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars RZ254 says:

    i did all this with automatic watch XD

  14. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Crispy says:

    30m is actually 4atm.

    Surface is 1atm
    10m = 2atm
    20m = 3atm
    30m = 4atm

    I swear I would've fucking fainted at the part where you need to underground through a pipe half full of water.

  16. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars MrLiveEra says:

    Why do women take part in the a Tough Bloke challenge , Why are you always trying to be 'as good as men'. .
    You know no one cares if you are either painting your toe nails or benching 1000lbs
    do things because you actually want to do them.

  17. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Dellenite says:

    That was a nice walkabout, but when are you going to run the tough bloke 2015?
