The new Keysight/Agilent 3000T Oscilloscope is released today, and Dave has a world first review of it.
It's a replacement for the existing 3000A X-Series, and is essentially the same in many ways, so only the differences are
covered in this video.
A lot of features from the 4000 X-Series have filtered down, and some things are now standard.
How does it compare to the Tektronix MDO3000?

Done.
Since then, there has been zero advancement in scopes other than 12 bit ADCs. We still have the same crappy laggy UI in every scope other than Keysight…
Ok Jimmy McGill 😅
I have a Keysight MSO-X 3054T Oscilloscope, but its date and time is not able to keep my Laptop in sync when i connected it to my Laptop via USB cable. I have no idea if there is way to make the date / time accurately synchronous between the Oscilloscope and a PC/Laptop. Anyone can help me on that? Thanks.
Woww keysight
2021 and Firmware Version 7.4x : the boot time for the 3000T is 48 seconds.
Boot time could be worse… it could have used the dreaded crt…..
No Caption, why?
10X the price of a Picoscope with 100X less functionalities, that is my assessment after working on the Keysight 3000
13.000 Euros…. hoooooooly fork, that this costs more than my freaking car… including a year's supply of gas xD aren't there any affordable scopes, that perform well enough for audio-application?
a touchscreen costs almost nothing. why aren't they in cheaper scopes? and why is keysight the only oscilloscope brand with reasonable channel colors? Just tell me why no scpoe on the market has a "custom colour" setting?
why don't they trigger, mask test and decode Ethernet… the most prolific comms protocol these days?
I can't believe how oscilloscopes are advanced nowadays.
Keysight now offer these 2000 to 6000 series scopes with free software upgrade, does it means there is new scopes release soon? Is it the right time to buy?
I wonder about the boot times test. Was this this the first time booting the new device? If so, it may be doing additional checks and setup on first boot.
Sorry Dave, but Sagan is way cooler than you…
Das riecht mittlerweile zu sehr nach Kommerz, Dave!
Warning: super cute Australian kid with an adorable accent.
Hi. Would it be possible to demonstrate these scopes triggering on television waveforms (real life stuff) as we are finding it very difficult to find a replacement scopes for our analogue Teks and Flukes that have a proper TV trigger functionality, without taking half an hour to get the thing to trigger! and if your looking for a signal that may or may not be there, very difficult. I have looked at one of these scopes and was extremely disappointed that you have no ground input facility! I know this is a bit of an issue with ADC's as you could be out of range but rather strange? This is a button that I use 3rd in line with voltage range and timebase speed so somewhat disappoint at the loss of this function.
Buy Rohde&Schwarz and leave Keysight on the place they belong 🙂
haha, the kid is totally an engineer in training!
still, quite the scope. they've got a pretty good thing going, i bet it'd throw a good share of their market off if they issued an all new unit.
Keysight? Lmao what the hell? Who was the executive who had the bright idea to rename agilent? Keysight sounds like something i'd find at radioshack or ebay.
we want more rants!
I loved the review and the scope. Unfortunately, if you aren't running a real lab for profit, this beast is too expensive. Hobbyist need not apply. Maybe there will some deals to be had on Ebay in 10 years 🙂
Great review Dave! I submit a name change to the EEVBlog though. EEV&SaganBlog. Has a nice ring to it hey? The 3000T is pretty nice but like all HP gear, its costly.
