Done.
I liked the Tek 485 better.
I'd avoid the B for two reasons:
1. Crappy quality SMD caps on A5 board. They tend to leak and damage traces and other nearby component. SMD makes them more difficult to replace.
2. The Dallas NVRAM is usually living on borrowed time. Once it's 30+ year old battery dies, all the calibration data goes "poof". Replacing of the NVRAM and recalibration will likely be required.
I'd opt for the 2465.
Beautiful baby, reminds me of my childhood and how I become interested in electronics.
Love it! Good looking
I'm guessing the young guy knew ohms law before he rode his first bike. Mum I don't have time to fix the TV right now I'm watching peppa pig.
Came for the scopes stayed for the cute baby boy
Super worthwhile to fix these. Just finished my 2467B that I was unexpectedly gifted and it's awesome. Getting to that power supply isn't exactly a picnic, but can be done. Dig it out slow and methodically. All the little comb headers have to be gently pulled up and out; do not bend those. The plastic on mine were all super brittle and it's easy to snap the little latch. Also there's an error in the layout designation sheet in the service manual for the caps so I just replaced mine one at a time; one of them is transposed with its neighbor. Did all that though and bam back up and running. I lucked out on the SRAM and read mine before data was lost and replaced it with a new Dallas and just dumped the old data back in. Seems fine to me for what it is. Maybe someday I'll get FRAM and no more battery. Anyway, great vid. Love the offspring. Smart kid. I was shy just like him too at that age. Still am.
2467B is the best ever 🙂
Hi Sir I get 2465B from my dear friend ho died from cancer few month before… i have problem with oscilloscope and for legacy and memory i wont repair.. can you help me to fine manual and anther stuff… best regards..
I have a 2465 here rescued from a dumpster at NXP back in 2017, with calibration stickers as recent as 2016, accompanied by a single Phillips 300MHz probe. Still works great. I'm getting a proper DSO soon but I'll keep it around.
hi, you can helme to repair my tektroncix 2465b? i have some issue in the control board. this board has some corrosion produce by caps.
❤️❤️❤️😍😍 very nice baby
you kit is very very lucky because hi have a father and love , i love to see a family like that
lovely!!
your kid is so lucky to have all these scopes and other electronics to play with, and a great dad can teach all these knowledge
Hi Dave, one question wasn't the Tek 2467B the best analog oscilloscope that Tektronix ever made? BTW nice video like the others one on your channel.
Pick one, *replace all the leaky capacitors*, give it a burl. Probably better than whatever DSO you're using as your main scope.
What no repair video????????
Dad, your the Greatest.
Those are the original caps on the earlier scope…you can see the 1990's code on them.
Has anyone ever heard of a 5111A, I bought one to sell any ider what there worth? From western Canada, cheers.
Yet shipping costs don't make sense cause if I order anything off fleabay from china that size it's nothing they just think well off countries have more money, scam I say.
you know what that is a scope 🙂 , nice little kid
