I’m honest, but I know how to not tell the truth (aka not recommending another cheaper product or from the competitors), so I suppose I’d make a good salesman. And that’s good because I want to start my own electronics business and I’ll have to sell my products!
Years ago, I had a sales rep tell me if you are an engineer, you are already a salesman. You sell your designs. He was right. But, like you said, we tend to be honest. If the best product for a customer's need is from a competitor, we as engineers would recommend it .
Yea, I agree. Though once in a while you do get a tech guy that can really talk, they're easy to spot they do stuff like blog while they're in their shop and even sometimes while they drive! You're a bonafide salesman Dave! By the way, great videos.
Australia should design and build high tech equipment instead of buying Rhode & Schwarz or Hameg. Like the US president recently announced to have the US working on being competitive on the world market, to even be able to sell US products to the Chinese under free market conditions.
Very true. I'm an engineer, but worked as a pc salesman in the past. Since I speak many languages, the management would send me to deal with foreigners. Knowing that few could understand what I was saying, I'd point at our gear, while actually telling customers what not to buy and where to find the same things for less.
"Engineers are so damn honest" You are SO damn right! I am such a bad salesperson… I just can't sell my projects!
I think that's the reason why many inventors and engineers don't get as famous (and rich) as plain sales people like Bill Gates.
LOL. Ah, but you are an oscilloscope salesperson, Dave. I bought a Rigol DS1052E based on your reviews and for bringing the 100 MHz hack to everyone's attention. (I haven't tried the hack yet, BTW.)
and here i thought everyone in your country was driving backwards

Your lil' ride starts at ~28 Merindah Rd Baulkham Hills over Windsor Rd to M2
where it finally ends. Isn't it that route?
I bet you're the best damn oscilloscope salesman Rigol has ever had!
Judging from your other rant about buying a real oscilloscope, you already are an oscilloscope salesman. Couldn't help but laugh..
Thats why I'm learning both electrical engineering/product design AND ppc marketing.

@Mr123research I diode usually does the trick.
i notice that your the guy to ask anything about the electronics field, what is the best thing to use to stop the back flow of volts and amps ???

OMG Dave where are you?
