About that manual… You say it's a positive thing. But is it? When you need 200 pages to explain how your consumer fixed-lens video camera works, it looks like bad product design to me. When the camera is designed right, you don't need such a beefy manual to operate it. The last camera I got was an Olympus E-PL5, which is a lot more complicated than that Sanyo, doing both photo and video, separate lenses, and all the other stuff you can attach to it with a port for remote controls, flash hotshoe, and a general accessory port for things like electronic viewfinders. Manual is 133 pages.
It's a lot of fun re-watching some of these old EEVblog videos. But also scary… I mean, it feels like yesterday that I watched this. Where did the last 8 years of my life go?
"They dropped support for all other platforms, but they're not going to kill it."
When one of the main selling points of a compiler is its multi-platform support, dropping support for all platforms except one kind of is "killing it".
Sounds like the ceo twisted Dave around his fingers with his fancy management talk. Remember that what people SAY doesnt mean anything. It is what they DO that matters.

Funny… After all those years Microchip actually bought Atmel…
"I'm not shooting in full hd, that's pretty silly."
Ah, the days when Full HD was still considered silly
Dave, this is a bit late…but is the flying pig real? well…you know what I mean 😀
Gosh, I want one!
Is this creature the wife and his mate the husband? This question troubles me no end. Will someone kindly clarify
They should understand the power of social media – they get half their product support for free via the official Microchip fan forums. =)
somebody at Microchip searched on YouTube for reviews about their products… I like that
Microchip proved they are just dick heads! After all these years they did nothing!
Id rather a non standard usb to a mini usb any day.
non-standard usb connectors give me the rage as well, and a drawer full of cables…
