Dave gives the solution to the first hardware quiz.
How do you design an LCR meter?
What about a stepped transmission line attenuation tester?
What does modular design and management have in common?

    Is it possible to get the self resonant frequency out of Rs and Xs?

    I compared your formulas with mine and noticed a small mistake in the formulas at 3:27:

    XS = imag( V / I ) = ( Vq*Ip – Vp*Iq ) / ( Ip^2 + Iq^2 )

    (Just a – instead of a + in the numerator)

    BTW – I made my own LCR meter based on this measurement principle 🙂

    hey dave, where can i find more information about this method?

    @Bushougoma Yes, it's an old video from the old video camera that did not have an anti-flicker mode.

    Wow nice! I made an impedance tester for my senior project… came up with the same equations. I used a Cypress PSoC3 (used DMA to send sinusoidal LUT to DDS DAC, filtered it, mixed the voltage and current with a reference digital clock, then LPF'd and did floating-point calculations all on a single chip). Got it working an hour before the presentation was due.

    I've been an infrequent visitor to your vlog, but it seems I'll be coming back more often =)
