Dave, the 4013 flip flop is being wired as a zero crossing detector. When you press the button on the remote the 4013 waits for the AC to reach zero crossing before switching on the mains transformer.

Any idea if this is the same fix for the TSR-8750?

I have Rx-A2010 no sound issue as well. I have corrosion or burn on the board where blue and white wires feed from Transformer. Any ideas or help is much appreciated. Thank you

My Rx-V667 was shutting down during watching the WC final 🙁

I've replaced the 2 caps 22n 630V but the fault is somewhere else, I suspect that it related to the switching IC because the transformer gives no AC voltages to the rectifier diodes which produces the +5V for the rest of digital boards. Too difficult to investigate further, so I tried with a solution of feeding external +5V power to the rectifier output and it's working.

I was given a broken yamaha rx-v3800 it wouldn't power on. A visit to jaycar and a 70c 223k cap later I fixed it. Bought some $100 jamo speakers. Now I have a 7.1 home theatre setup that sounds awesome.

My Yamaha htr-5890 receiver keeps shutting off after about a half hour of use. I think it is over heating. What components do you think could be bad ?….Maybe a capacitor or something else ?

Awesome video, but did have a question, I have the same model receiver but the capacitor in question is labeled in mine as 473K 400FI , it is the exact same size as the 223K capacitor as well, wondering if there was an update to this capacitor along the way, and also if you had any resource on where to obtain said capacitor. Thanks for any help!
