in your video you said this is a complicated beast, that you cant make with open source software/hardware, but thar be an entire community making better versions out of just that, using bits out of old scanners etc, getting better resolution

I have a question regarding the material this thing uses. How well it hold up over time. I mainly make parts for broken toys, currently I make my replacement parts out of clay then use silicone to make a mold of it then cast the final piece in resin. I was trying to look into something that I could skip the wasting of using molding material, but would still hold up as well as the resin. Would a machine such as this one be the way to go?
best you get a RigidBot 🙂 open source and better quality than the Replicator 2 & less than 1/4 of the price…

In my opinion they abandoned the hobbyist market because, despite the massive blogger shilling, word that the Makerbot was a POS eventually got out.
Hi Dave, I just bought this off ebay, and im not sure how to apply 5 volts to it because that's what the input specs say. please help? will it work with six volts? as in 4 AA batteries? please help dave!

Our High School here in NY purchased few of these for the ElectroMech Major to work with (we are a specialized high school focused on STEM fields: we already had industrial grade, large, boxy printers that used powder, lasers, etc.). The replicator 2 is a lot quicker to prototype on, more reliable and much simpler! As a Senior (Grade 12), the underclassmen I supervised quickly learned in a few mins. Anyone with the slightest CAD experience can easily pick it up. Looks great, works great!

idont know if this has been invented yet but im thinking of coming up with a design for a wirelss keyboard to have a headphone jack or even wireless headphones that link up to the keyboard and have everything wire less and have only one usb port taken up giving more open ports and less wires

Except the problem is you have to wait for shipping time to receive your product, and the results may not be what you want. Sometimes you want it locally so you don't have to wait if you made a mistake.
