Hi, What do you do when you got a new baby and you got a set of scales and you don't know if they're reading? Spot on? Well, you come to a Cow Lab a N Certified Cow Lab and you check it out. I'm here with Uh Charles Halm at Trio Smart Cow and this is Charles and this is the trio Smart N Certified Lab and got the baby scales, one corner of it, one corner of it. We'll take you on a full tour later and we've got our Bab scales and we going to calibrate them with the proper W I Assume that not is certified, can't calibrate the Bab? Yes, and we're going to check it out. So let's go.

Okay, so let's uh, let's start at um, typical birth weight 3 kilos. y Okay, tell us what we're doing here. What have we got? Well, what we've got is a set of precision weights. Yep, a very nice, uh case.

nice. And they're made out of what material? Platinum or something, or some something. Very heavy. Extremely heavy.

All right. In fact. I don't think they even need a good temperature coefficient. They'll just stay.

They just change size. That's all. awesome. Anyway, Okay, well let's start at 3 kilos.

Well, let's start at 2 kilos. All right. Of course, you don't need to document this because, um, you're documenting it already. Look at that.

we are. Oh, it's all. It's spot on. Right on.

Right on to awesome. and these uh, scales go up to about 13 kilos. I Think that is, we can take them up to 13 so we'll take it off. Let it settle.

Let's do it at four. Wow. Spot on. Not bad.

For a cheap a cheap set of Chinese scal this is very good I think use in here. Okay, let's uh, take it up to Uh to six W Big Six Kil Weight Awesome. Five Five and one makes six. Five one makes.

it's a long time since I've been to school, but I think it's still right I think it adds up. Yep, Ah, it's completely linear. Look at that. This is going to be the best measured calibrated baby baby scale ever.

I Suspect: Never never issued a not a certificate certificate for baby before. Do we get a cow certificate for baby? Do that. Yeah. Okay, let's let's do eight.

All right. Ah, oh too good. spot on lineari excellent. Complete to the least significant digit.

So we need to go to 10 so we use two of three on and we just need to keep on one. two there. it's got a 10. oh 10 K 10 kilo.

we? Here we go. That's about how much I want need to lose actually. Oh look at that. Oh oh to the least significant digit at that.

Spot on. Okay, beautiful. And lastly, we'll take it to 12. We don't do 13s in here.

That's all right. Unlucky number, huh? Yep, you certainly wouldn't want to jinx the lab, that's for sure. And oh no, right, it's we're losing our linearity. But anyway, so there you go.

All right, Thanks very much child. It's a pleasure and what a lovely baby you and we forgot the tray didn't we? But let's set you on here and see what you weigh. Okay you ready? 3.2 55 What a champion! Beauty Pretty little yeah look he's is falling asleep. It's good when he does he's actually falling asleep on the SK Oh, it's your first visit to a N Cow Lab, isn't it? Yeah, you want to go check out the gear? Absolutely.
let's go come on.

    @Films4You
    1) This isn't a lab scale with .001 g res. Those aren't .01 g calibration weights.
    2) He touched every weight, yet only the 12 kg measurement was off.
    3) The sweat didn't weigh 10 g. Or 5 (which would've been enough to cause the scale to round up to 12010, as it seems to have 10 g resolution). It didn't even weigh 1 g.
    4) Okay, in the case that the msrmnt error was .001 g smaller than "needed" to cause the scale to round up to 12010 g, touching the weights could've made a difference.

@TheWelly888 Yes, it comes with a baby tray, I didn't have it with me at the lab. Essential when he's awake and squirming!

This reminded me of when I worked for NCR I had to calibrate scales in stores still have the 30 pound of certified weights some day I will sell them sad part very costly to ship.

  18. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars ForViewingOnly says:

Ah Dave, for the first 40 seconds of the video I though you were having us on with a fake baby!

  19. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars CampKohler says:

I don't know what a cal lab would have to do with the National Athletic Trainer's Assn.

Shouldn't he be wearing gloves when handling precision weights to prevent corrosion and contamination? He could have just finished stuffing his face with some kind of greasy concoction at lunch and…. Oh, THAT'S why there are oily spots and coffie spills on the calibration certificates.

@cleverca22 I think this is one of those units that won't like a teardown much. Best to leave the baby as is. 🙂 Keeps them much happier =p
