Dave finds an Easter Egg in the new Agilent 2000/3000 series Scopes
Just a quick one thanks to Mike at Mike's electric stuff for reminding me that the Agilant Scopes uh have traditionally had uh built in what they call um Easter eggs is the common term for it like uh little secret hidden extras he you know like the names of the developers or little games or little uh, funny references or something like that put in there by the development team that only they know about and so I started searching around and I eventually found it. Now if I hit the utility button down here and I go into options like this and I hit this soft key over here four times. bang There It Is Taada cute little animation there of the developers names there they are in all their Glory these are the people. these are the guys and girls who uh who worked on the scope and um the they've got the same animation in the 6000 series which uh Mike has posted um on his channel now uh a lot of the names will be very similar to the Um 6000 uh series development team so a lot of the people have stayed over and I've heard that uh Matt hul Here is the guy responsible for the Megaz Zoom for Asic he's uh responsible for all the magic that happens in these new 2,000 and 3000 Series Scopes but I'm sure that's not to say all the other uh people weren't involved as well.
So there's the developers. but I haven't uh found like a game yet I haven't found. You know any other built-in features so if you can let me know.
Lol they have all been sacked now the management have seen this ๐
lol how the hell did you find that dave!? Idle hands
The 54645D has games built in, I'll post videos when mine gets here ๐
What about the Etch-A-Scope, mr. Jones??
Iirc some ppl even made pong for them ๐
HP/Agilent are awesome for this sort of thing. We've got a few at work that have Tetris built in (such a timewaster!) and others with Asteroids, it's great ๐
I think there are a series of Tek scopes with Asteroids hidden on them too.
You can change the pen to any one of seven colors or toggle it off if you want to change the pen location without drawing a line. The rightmost softkey is labeled "Shake" and erases the drawing. Press any key to exit this Easter Egg. It appears that the "sketches" survive if you reopen the Easter Egg as long as you don't power cycle the scope.
My DSO-X 3034A was just delivered yesterday, and I found another Easter Egg: Go to the menu level where Dave showed us how to display the developers' names, but instead of pressing the #6 softkey four times, press the #5 softkey four times. You will get the "Etch-A-Scope" where you can draw on the screen using the Channel 1 position control for the X and the Channel 2 position control for the Y.
the ones at my college had asteroids i think ๐
have you heard back from them about the FAIL in your review?
Hopefully you find something cool like Snake, but you could always program snake in to a micrococtroller and use the DACs on it to output to the scope and play Snake like that. :p
If you pull the mains cord out of the wall, a screen saver will appear that is guaranteed to prevent internal damage to the display of every type.
"It's true I tell you."
Well a quick Google search revealed nothing. ๐
Maybe you could contact the people listed in this easter egg for more; like some sort of treasure hunt.
I wander how much rom space they used to get this to come up.
