Hi Just an update on the $9 Amo process meter Aliexpress Bargain I actually ordered two more units I think a couple of hours or something after I Released the video once again from my cozy store on Aliexpress and they they finally showed up. They actually got delivered unlike unfortunately most people. Obviously it was an absolute bargain at $9 and like probably thousands of people jumped at the opportunity. and there's a huge Eevblog foreign thread which I'll link in down below.
It's the same one for the previous video, so just keep it so that it's continuous. and so many people ordered these things from all different stores and people were watching in real-time as my video was released to the public. I actually released it early to our patrons and supporters so they actually got first dibs at the bargains, but still there was still some available. Um, after I released the video, the people were following this in real-time hours.
After I released the video, you could see I provided like a dozen links or something to like all these different stores that had it as you can see him just go out of stock, out of stock, out of stock are not available anymore and it often. it wasn't because people were actually buying up all the stock as they had. You know, some stores were saying they had, you know, 300, 500, 900, something like that those numbers were obviously BS I Think there was like probably just one seller that had stock of these things. Maybe it was my cozy life store I Don't know who and as I said, probably the other ones didn't actually have any stock, but they would.
If they got an order, they would then just order from whoever actually had all the stock in the Shinzon market or whatever. As I said, it's most likely a lot of these Aliexpress stores are in the same part of the markets as all the others and they often don't actually carry the stock. If you order something, they'll just walk around the corner to the next store that actually has that, buy that and then on ship it to you. So sorry to everyone, those numbers were yeah, a little bit.
RBS and some people and a lot of the stores tried to I shaft people saying that ah we sorry we don't have this meter. it was either incorrectly listed or we've run out. would you like this? $2.00 cheapy Instead This one's a superb instrument in and I'll put up a photo of our ones that they offered as a replacement for this $9.00 you know, 0.05% class process meter. So yeah, it's just like silly and a lot of other stores would raise their prices within hours of the video being released.
They go up to 60 bucks. 90 bucks something like that. So obviously I'm yeah we don't know the whole story like I don't think anyone will know unless somebody from these companies. Actually these stores actually tells us what the real deal was and but all they probably they probably haven't seen the video or they probably know is that there was a rush on on these meters and well maybe when we priced them too low. so they a lot of people I got refunds or they got stuffed around. A few people actually did get delivery. Quite a few people did actually get a delivery of the meters and as I said oh I got another two they turned up. So yeah, I thought we'd just have a quick guns quiz at them.
So anyway it's a it's an absolutely fascinating saga. This insanely priced instrument which is normally a couple hundred bucks on sale for nine bucks and I did get these for nine dollars each delivered US dollars each delivered and they did actually show up by our slow post of of course and they don't contain any batteries. This is interesting. This one has multifunction process calibrator on it and this one has nothing.
and once again as you can see you can, you should be able to see where they've scrubbed off the model number. There's originally like a model number at the top and there's a like a brand and a model number and this one's had multifunction process. Well it's hard to see if that ones being actually scrubbed off, but yeah it's just weird. The variety in these things and why they scrub them off we still don't have no idea you you know they fell off the back of a truck or whatever and my original won't work.
so it'll be interesting to see if these ones work. So let's give it a ball and this first one here. we're in just the regular multimeter which is like half a percent accurate. It's you know it's me and it works fine.
So go over to the to the millivolt range and input. Of course we have to swap our swap our leads over because they're physically a different Gz sockets. a dodgy as tell you what? Well, that's not, that's not what want. but hey, the output works.
There you go. Yep, Yep. so yeah, that's as bang-on as you can get I'm sure that's that's within spec. You know you could do the couch, but whatever I think that looks it looks pretty good.
It's doing the business and there's output in millivolts there. that's pretty good. Innit There you go goes up Boy you know it's absolute accuracy is a little bit out, but yeah, we are down at the Millivolt range down there. It's crazy right? but it's it's dead.
It does work, no workers and current generation that works as well. So yep I think we have a winner now. Filter on that. Ok, complain about that for your 9 bucks I know if we've got low battery? Yeah, I'll think yeah, that's that's maximum.
There you go and again there seems to be some dizziness in the contacts I can get I can get that should be able to get that to come. Good maybe. Or you've got it. Actually often you're gonna like cycle it like this.
It's really done. It's quite dodgy. Come on, come back your mongrel. There we go.
Hey, it's totally flaky, but it does actually work. But the capacitance range is dodgy as once again, like Central, it's just all over the shop. It's just ridiculous. 50 nano ferrets for an open socket? Give me a break. That's terrible. Muriel There we go. That's zero. What if I Plug it.
These These things are terrible. Really? not that doesn't work at all now. Doesn't work at all. Wow.
You can kinda sorta get it to output a precise voltage in Carrot though. and that's for measuring current using the multimeter. It's completely dodgy. I'm outputting 30 milliamps and it's just like what? what on earth is it doing? That's that is insane what? and it's negative - I'm pretty sure I got it around there.
Oh yeah, I've got a positive. Got a positive? Got the leads around the right way? Wow Yeah, there's no consistency in these. The battery cover, for example, one of them used are silver screws. the other one is black passivated ones.
Yeah, okay. I'm using the other one now. Um, this one actually works on current. It's a little bit out, but you know it's there.
We go through the micro amps. you know, good enough. Australia We all the capacitance work. Oh We know, We know, Chicken dinner.
This one's pretty good. It's a little bit out, but you know that's fine. As I said, the spec on this thing is absolutely atrocious. This one also works on voltage, so let's just try on the airport now.
Yep, this one nice. Bang on again for Voltage. No worries, that's a little bit out. so decimal place.
What do you want for your nine bucks? Whoa. What's it Look much? Watch this. LCD Whoa. Let's go.
let's go. I'm nuts. it's gone crazy. What the heck? Press function is just going nuts.
Ah, but this one. he's way out on its current. Yeah, these really are pot like. Oh wow.
Yep, it was 24 maximum. Yeah yeah, these things really are potluck and well. yep, they're you know, $9 rejects. Obviously, what do you expect, but you know some people might be able to make you see out of these if you did get it for nine bucks.
perhaps? If so, yeah, if you're lucky enough to get one that's being on, then of course you've got to have to make to see if it's bang on. You've got to have you know reasonable gear to check it against. and wasn't the calibration pots inside from the teardown last time? I Won't repeat that here. I'm sure they're exactly the same inside and well, yeah, whoa, whoa.
What happened there? Something? What arranged? I Heard the relays go clickety-clack that one's reasonably close on the process meter voltage input. Let's try the current. Yeah, at night, once again, that's completely out What? 30 milliamps is too high? Three milliamps? Yeah yeah. this one's are completely wonky.
So this one was bang on but had a wonky multimeter and and a dodgy socket. This one. I Haven't encountered dodgy socket nests yet. I'm sure it's a sure, it's just latent, they're waiting and but we're out on current and well and this one seems to have a better multimeter. So these literally are potlucks. So anyway, let us know in the comments and over on the massive forum thread down below. it was so popular. I Can't believe the number of views on on this video.
A God of people just love a bargain in this one. Like at nine bucks, you know if it kind of sort of worked, it was. It was a bargain. Um, but yeah, like you wouldn't use this as an everyday you smoly me used.
Its so unreliable, even this world it's kind of sort of might work. but yeah I know. So really, we need to find out the history of this thing and if they ever did work, you know if you paid to you, you can buy these now for 200 bucks on. eBay Have you actually bought one of these things? You know, pay top dollar for it and it doesn't work.
Is it reliable? and are these ones simply? you know, Rejects fell off the back of a truck and there it's just crap and that's why they'll flogging them off for nine bucks. So the saga of this aim a process meter. It's rather epic. He's probably fell off the back of the truck.
They've had model and numbers and names rubbed off, and even the type of product it is rubbed off. By the way, I didn't mention this last time. There's actually a virus on in the executable file on the USB stick that comes with this apparently and multiple people have reported that. So yeah.
beware. There's have been fake tracking numbers and all sorts of stuff whether or not these stores deliberately set out to scam people or whether or not it was just a like you know it was just an in result of the huge rush on these things for nine bucks and the stores just I don't know and maybe took the opportunity to scam people where they normally wouldn't I don't know what the deal is and and but other stores would refund to people and they they would try and convince you not to leave the negative feedback and all that sort of stuff. and you know and let's deal with outside the system they offered you know, a little one hung $2 cheaper as a replacement for it and all sorts of stuff. They raised their prices by what tenfold? Fifteen folds? Something like that in even my cozy life store raised the price to happen 55 bucks according to one report on the forum.
and it's just it's sagas, just nuts. So anyway, it's absolutely fascinating, but there you go. like I could give these away but like I don't think I'd wish it on anyone it on G as it cost more to ship it for me to ship at like even local here in Australia then it cost for me to import this thing from Aliexpress The world's got nuts. Catch you next time.
I would take them off your hands for what you paid for them. I want to tear them apart and troubleshoot them. I will pay for S&H also.
They should just be honest about it, and list them for what they are… liquidation of old units, that for some reason or the other are leftovers.
faulty production not meeting specs, returns or whatever..
the price is so low that they would still go as hotcakes.
IMO, the most dodgy thing and what really make Chlna stln-k, is the way these third-party resellers threat their customers.
and just blatantly lie and come up with all sorts of excuses and even dumping fake tracking – so they can steal your money, while they haven't shipped anything.
Wun Hung Lo is my preferred manufacturer of precision instrumentation
For $9 it's like something you'd get in a showbag along with a chocolate frog and pen that doesn't write. Oh and an old Phantom comic of course!
está a $180 hoy
Here is what I had posted on the previous video but includes an update for this one. I agree with several others that its likely defective or crippled stock and perhaps maybe even fallen off the truck so to speak. While it does perform in spec I would still avoid buying them as a result of the problems that you found right off the bat during use. I understand that its was only $10 Yankee bucks and then they ballooned in price but if you buy cheap especially that cheap 99% of the time you buy twice and personally I would not want another temperamental and glitchy device that I would need to use professionally.
I am still several years too late but I am so very happy I would have refused to buy one of these meters and what was that you say a virus on the USB stick. Now why am I not surprised about this video yeah even then I started sniffing and you bet ya I smelled baloney and bull shit. Thank you but I will stick to Fluke meters.
J U N K…
At least you have two more meters to abuse or blow up with a magnatron
It sure paid NOT to be a patron. You would pay $9 and get junk. Poor connections, poor readings. The last thing you need is a test instrument that doesn't work.
Hilarous
CACA POOPOO
you make me sad.
Glad I just saw these vids….. not going to buy one.
Could not pay more than €3 on this shit.
You could part it out for more than you bought it for. Still worth it.
real life loot boxes
How about repair tutorial? And calibration of a calibrator xD At least try.
Big OEMs don't bother with defect product handling. They hire a subcontractor to collect the defective end products for safe destruction. This is done in order to prevent unauthorized product sales to the end user. After that the products go to a waste recycling company. This is the way we do it in the company I work for(automotive). Obviously in this situation this line was broken. Someone had decided not to follow procedures. These products were scrapped as defects but never reached the destruction stage.
Is not that bad for 9 Bucks. Try to buy a plastic case a LCD and 2 probes (same quality). I bet is way over 9$. Also the disk with the virus is good to test your antivirus.
that must be the meter the Chinese use to rate batteries with……..listed 6000mah reality 200mah
