Hi Yes! I'm super excited. Why? Because it's an announcement for a design contest, but not just any design contest. The Biggest design contest Ever! This thing is freaking Huge! What is it? It's the Hacker Day Prize. Yes, the Hacker Day.

Uh, people together with uh, their new owners Supply frame are running the biggest Hardware design contest ever. And yeah, there been plenty of Hardware design contests. Yeah, I've been a judge in a few of them and well, they've been pretty good. but this one takes it up to the next level.

How high up? Well Freaking Space. Yes. Freaking Space. The winner of this Hardware design contest actually gets to fulfill every nerd's fantasy and go into space.

Can you believe it? Oh yes. The Hacker Day Prize! It starts uh, today this very minute that I'm uh, releasing this video and it runs for the next 6 months and uh, I yes will be one of the judges. one of the half a dozen or so judges in the design contest. So I'm one of the ones that you have to impress and really only the best of the best is going to win this.

but everyone has a chance and what it is is a, uh, open. It's very loose, uh, sort of terms and conditions at the moment. just design something open ish and design something uh, connected is so an open Connected Hardware product. and apart from that, pretty loose uh terms and conditions.

so get to it. and well. the prizes First prize. You get to go into space.

Freaking space. Unbelievable. or the cash equivalent, but who the hell wants to take the cash equivalent? Go For Broke Go To Space you beauty. Bragging rights forever.

Awesome! Anyway, there's some other cool prizes in it as well if you don't win the trip to space uh, there's a uh, high-end CNC machine worth over 10K or something. there's another high-end 3D printer one of the top end ones uh, worth over 10K and a whole bunch of other uh prizes as well. and probably uh, prizes to be added at a later point. So there you go.

Just a very quick announcement. Uh, the website is um, Hackaday.io It's linked in down below. so check it out and get started on your awesome open Connected uh design to win the Hacker Day prize Space The Final Frontier So awesome I think I'm going to enter I'm sorry Dave I'm afraid I can't do that. What's the problem? I think you know what the problem is just as well as I Do a oh bumer catch you next time.

Cash. Why? It's merely crossing the 100km mark, hanging there for 6 minutes and then falling down like a rock to safety.
You can book a flight(rarely) in a Lockheed to go up to 21km, experience microgravity for 12 seconds, and have the same(almost) vision of the earth's curvature for $12k(2011).
