In this video we go over the complete build and restoration of our 1981 Jeep CJ-7. This Jeep started its life with an AMC straight 6 that we removed and replaced with a Chevy 350 h.o. small block that makes around 350 hp and 400 foot pounds of torque. We also did a complete frame off restoration where we applied bondo to the floor, powder coated the frame, made custom side steps, bumpers, and roll cage for this Jeep. Finally, we completely rebuilt the fuel and brake systems as well as both the rear drum brakes and front disk brakes. We then installed a bestop soft top as well as some racing seats and harnesses.
The CJ is now completely done and road legal so be sure to subscribe for offered videos and more driving footage in the future.

I love my TJ. Wouldnt want anything later than that…. HOWEVER the one thing I loooove about the JK and JLs is the Anvil color. Great choice!
Love d color and U look so hot with..
Fantastic job
All your dedication and hard work paid off
Your very talented.
great work, is it for sale? 🙂
Looks great. Very impressive 👍🏼
Had a cj in high school..the one i currently have came with an automatic an to me it was a total buzz kill.. just doesnt feel like a cj.
goin back to a stick..
Nice work, beautiful finish. Do you think the same motor would fit in a Jeep J20? I have never rebuilt anything but I have a j20 that I want to fully restore
Dang! Good stuff!
Other than the engine swap I would say nice job…. I would have kept it more original…good job all in all.
Oh, and beautiful job 👏 👏 👏
Ok, ima be nosey…bc you did all the labor…how much $$$ do you have into it???…include the price of jeep, powder coat, crate motor etc…thanx
What was the color? About to paint my 84 restore and I like it
Y’all did an amazing job!!
The straight six engine is amazing!
Muito bom!
Can't wait to build my own CJ-7 someday
Very good job on the body and chassis in general…and excellent choice of final paint color! Personally, I have a big affinity for the 4.0-liter HO I-6 engines…and would have 'salvage yarded' a full engine, 5-speed, transfer from an old YJ and simply did a quick 'bearing/oil pump/cam' refresh…I'm just not a big v-8 fan for Jeeps (yeah, I know, AMC had the 304…but still)…
Take care of it…should last a lifetime, if maintained. As you 'get older', you'll probably want the hardtop…and never forget, you can add 'aftermarket air' for about $1k…and that 350 will definitely drive a compressor!
Lost me at mournstar liner
Great Job by the way.
I have an 83 CJ7 in bad shape from being at the ranch for years, what was the price on the rebuild you did on yours?
$$$
Amazing restoration. I own a TJ. I’m looking at a 82 CJ for $2k. How much will a similar resto go for?
Very very nice fellas!
Gear box tyre?
Hey. Hoping you get this. I'm on Leander just north of Austin. Have a 79 CJ7 I need to restore. It was my Dad's but it sat under an oak tree for probably 12+ years. I'd like to chat and talk with you if that's possible. Jim
