I use to work for Maxim andย a phone call was received that the some Manufacturing Test Equipment (desperately needed) was going to be delayed. The reason wasย the vendor could not get some critical parts to complete the Testers.ย Want to guess who the Vendor was????? MAXIM!!! The irony was just too priceless! True Story…..
I am totally new to electronic so bare with me.:-) Am I right in assuming that a function generator can be used to simulate output from a transformer, to testย ones circuitย if theย rectifier and filters areย rectifying and cleaning the ripples as desired?
By the way, i am learning englisch by watching your videos too. You are easy to understand and if i ย even wasnt interested in electronics, you make a really good show of teaching people a lot of serious stuff ๐
One thing to watch out for on this function generator is that it loses its settings after you power it off. For instance, if you enable the 20dB attenuation, turn the function generator off and then power it on again, it's back on without the 20dB attenuation. I destroyed a pretty expensive ADC because of this fault.
14 years old and still a worthwhile video. Thanks ๐
Old vids
Hahaha just came to this video, Iโm glad Dave improved the teardown quality!

step number 2
My god, for such a clever man you do waste such a lot of time speaking 'shit'….some real fucking nonsense!
lol
These are for sell on ebay right now for $50. Suppose I should buy one?
Don't Turn it On Take it Apart love that saying this is the first episode he says that
You've came a long way Dave, or is this your very calm accepting twin brother?
First "Don't turn it on, take it apart!" I love it!

Find this blog a couple of days ago and ……damn you dave, i know where i am going to spend the next month of my time ๐
The waveform is dancing tango lol.
Maxim have really good covers.
my collages lab has this same function gen at each bench
I have a very similar function generator but mine is branded as GW INSTEK but mine is perfectly stable so maybe a newer model or something?

I don't like this function generator.
National Semiconductors work fine for me ^_^
my old oscilloscope was a good will
which not too expensive function generator do you recommend?
