If you don't like shaky hand held walking footage, motion blur, or camera image stabilisation, don't watch it, no complaints. I do not have a steadycam, and I don't want advice on a steadycam, and I don't care how much you can't watch it. Thanks.

Hi I'm at Cabet 2014 and we're about to do a walk around. It's uh, quite a large venue so it could take a while, but stick with me. sorry I don't have a proper uh, steady cam rig so we get what we get. Let's go.

now. it's held in the uh the Dome it's not in the Olympic uh Stadium of course. and uh, let's have a look at who's at Nicka. They're the um, uh, research, uh, government funded uh research, uh group there.

Well, they do get government uh funding. but uh, and there's a whole uh Asian section over there which we'll come to but it's all set up in different zones pretty much so. we got IBM here. and uh, belcon, they have, uh, turned up so lots of you know all of your main uh, computer names.

they're all here and this is a fancy stand. How much do they spend on that? Gee, oh no, that's a looks like a conglomeration of company's sales force. Um, you know all that, uh, all that business. uh Jazz but there is.

um Canon have a big stand there we go. How much one of those stands cost I Know they probably spent, you know, 100 Grand setting up the stand or something like that. So anyway, there's uh mobile Communications there so comes in uh, all different sections. and then there's cloud ecosyst systems.

we''ve got Factor tell and all sorts of telecoms companies Citrix and SAS all the usual. but um I'm surprised to see a few uh test equipment makers here. So we got power power parameters uh, test and measurement. so they're selling hyok stuff.

so there you go and uh, so there is some uh test equipment gear here. very surprising. um to find this at Cabit, which is predominantly a business show and there New South Wales new state business So the New South Wales government have obviously, uh, spent some of my tax dollars thank you very much and uh, who are Ruckus Wireless So there's M2M connectivity and all sorts of uh, noout networking, uh companies and it looks like we're in as an Indian uh, Indian company and here we go. I think we're in the uh, well, University of uh Western City Syney, there you go.

UTS So all the um, yeah, so a few of the local universities here in Sydney are here. but there's a huge section of the show which is, uh, devoted of course to uh China Shenzen. So all the uh, a whole conglomerate of Chinese companies, ones that make, uh, probably those, uh, noname uh tablets and all that sort of stuff, smartphones and oh little seminar theater. uh Bo he's a consultant, he's giving some sort of lecture I'm not sure, but tons of Chinese companies here as you'd pretty much, uh, expect because uh, we're in the in Australia Here we're in the Asia Pacific region of course.

um, scientific development Co interesting Tablet PCs and uh, more. Oh, they've got, uh, ruggedized uh phones and tablets and uh, all that sort of jazz. Then we're got connectors. um, heat shrink tubing and things like that.

Geez, you'd think you're at an electronic show. I'm actually quite surprised I thought it was more, uh, business oriented I did have a very quick walk up the center um of the Dome wearing a dome here by the way, it's called The Dome for a reason. There it is and uh, and it's actually quite a large venue. There's a huge as you'll see, it could take 20 minutes to walk through through this thing.
I'm sure giving commentary and we've just got crap audio. uh, consumer audio products, but very little consumer grade uh stuff. here. it is all predominantly business.

so uh, little, uh, security. uh c those uh, car cameras, things like that. So and fire some sort of fire protection mob and uh, Western uh Western Digital is it there you go and airw watch a micro? a um Wireless company presumably never heard of them, but uh, we're missing out a whole bunch. So sorry if I don't get around to everything because it could be a bit tricky.

get in the whole lot anyway. uh yeah if I walk down every aisle. would' be here forever but this is a walk around video so I will do a separate one with just some highlights of some interviews with uh uh people and uh, stuff like that. mainly the hardware startups.

That's pretty much what I'm here for. There is a startup section in the second part of the hall over there, which we will eventually get to, so bang the table. Interesting name. Okay, Rackspace so the cloud company rack space there here.

Maybe they can, uh, offer me some free EV log serice space. Perhaps I should talk to them, give them some free publicity in exchange for uh oh ah. here we go. Here's a crap job.

no software. Look at this. someone's dressed up dude. Ah that's bad.

That is tragic. No guys, that's just No 5 1, 2. All right, let's leave them to their own devices. Oh goodness.

you always get that at shows. It's the worst job ever. So uh, dressing up as a mascot? Thankfully I've never had to do it at all these shows. I've uh I've been on a few stands at various shows I've never uh, drawn the Short Straw and had to, uh, dress up as a mascot or anything like that.

So I do have my uh image uh, stability turned on so hopefully it works a bit. but I don't know. uh, this camera is not that great with image stability so my apologies. uh yeah, he's also in an outfit.

Look at that. No, that's just wrong. That's wrong. No, he looks happy though.

All right. and so yeah, these are companies. I've never heard of cloud companies and various things, but uh, this is what it's all about here. So not only Australian companies of course, but uh, lots of overseas like AVG an virus are here.

There you go I just ditched their uh software cuz it had an an annoying uh annoying popup kept popping up with all sorts of crap and I couldn't shut it up. So now I gave it the flick for uh antiv ver I'm using now but uh Blackberry they're here. Are they still going? What do they do these days? Printer mate? All right Rapid Global And we're startup alley Here we go. This is what we're here for.
so let's go in and check out a few of the startups. and there's a retail Tech section right over there. So this place is is is pretty big actually. Check out my startup.

Oh yeah, oh you've got a startup. What is it? Urban Outsource disrupting Home Services Industry Home Services Not quite my Fi, but thanks. Anyway, there you go. They're walking around pitching their stuff.

That's what you got to be here for flogging your wares. There is a thing which starts at like 12:30 today which is a uh they get to pitch their stuff and um o tasmin 3D printers There you go. terrific and uh whe Tronics there you go I know wi Tronics So yeah thank you thumbs up All right more. 3D Printers that looks very nice looks very sexy.

We might come back to that one for our highlights reel and crap. Overpriced food no doubt I'm sure they always are. Delta V Space Hub So we got some I don't know. Space Startup Accelerator 3D Printing Systems Objective 3D All right, let's go Saber Astronautics Space Net.

Lots of okay, right? Uh, it looks like um, what of Delta V sponsored? uh, lots of space stuff I Don't know, but there seems to be a quite a few of them here so. but I'm impressed by the number of um made in Germany There you go to Hi to all my German viewers. there are a lot of you. And yeah, there's a specific German section here once again.

I sort of. You know who would be funding that? I'm not entirely sure but uh oh, we missed some stuff around the back. see we could go all day. We could go all day space.

Yeah, that's the oh no, that's the back side of those. oh don't want to spill anyone's coffee. All right? I'll hang back there. We go.

Let's continue and this is the future of Robotics And there it is. He's going to make it do something. Yeah, Work right? It's a bit of a fail. Okay that oh no, you can't get back up.

Yes, Canny Canny. you got back up. Awesome. There you go and they've got the software.

Obviously it. I presume that is looks like the stance that he got is that tied in real time to the robot. He Look there we go. He's kicking the ball the problem with it at the moment is it's a bit slow.

That's pretty. They're evil looking eyes. I Love those. That's great.

We actually think they look a little bit like Astros y I think Astro Boy you reckon y we need to fix that I think he? yeah, he's failed. All right. but no, we might uh might come back to that. That's very cool.

Anyway, there's a whole section. Oh know, that's just yeah future of robots. so it could be separate companies. Once again, they've got themed areas.

Oh University of Sydney Okay, there you go. Oh shrimp. that looks impressive. Okay, there we go.

Good day. Someone knows me. Want to be on the video? Good fromo Dojo oh Robo Dojo yeah did we meet it? We did. Oh we yeah.
good day. I Thought So excellent. All right I'm just doing a walk around video at the moment and uh, this looks very impressive. Anything with something that spins is awesome.

Does it go ping as well? That would be terrific. but I have no idea what the shrimp is but uh, it looks very capable that's for sure. Big emergency stop button big um antennas on the sucker big GPS as well. So yeah, that's and multi.

Oh yeah. okay so it's got 360 uh Panorama cameras on it and we' got our well as a the Big Bird remote control plant, robotic aircraft used in agriculture. There you go and drones. There's quite a few drones.

here that's a nice little arm look at that nice compact. You can almost sit that on a desk, but that's really neat. Got ourselves some drones. it's an interesting Arrangement actually there you go digital SLR mounted on it with a uh an vibration Mount I'm sure Door Dynamic control that that looks very nice, but that's a uh I I think they have a specific name those um, that arrangement of uh, props on them.

So Japanese Company all right Tech Reader: There are a couple of Hardware startups here I wanted to, uh, check out and I will eventually come across them. Haven't found them yet. Women as entrepreneurs, awesome and uh woo, what else? Yeah, there's the um, well, they call it the Uh 3D PCB printer but it's not actually 3D it's a 2d but uh, they wanted they wanted me to drop by. so screen Weaver Tons of companies you can spend all day just talking to.

you know, um, each individual stand in the startup section. so I'm very impressed. There's uh, quite a lot of take up here, and Mjet Mjet have been going forever. and I'm not sure they may actually have a printer that works, who knows, but uh yeah, they've been going forever.

Mjet as well. There's a huge history behind Mjet, but uh, yes, let's not go there. So oh, they got the Raspberry Pi There you go. Payroll systems Okay, and the UK is here.

There you go. Looks like, uh, major countries have all got their own section. So I guess the UK trade and investment? uh um Department I guess uh. funding their stand to invest in? uh, invest in the UK So go figure.

Australian Computer Society Terrific. They a largest stand. There's no computers on display though. really.

that's a bit disappointing. Aerial Acquisitions More like drones. Fantastic. So that' be.

um, aerial photos and stuff like that by the sounds of it. Vault Grid All right. that's a large interactive map application. Not sure what they're doing.

Sneak around the back here see what they got. You always got to make sure it's very easy to miss stuff here. So you got to make sure you, uh, take every nook and cranny magazines start up. why not if you got Star Wars shirt.

Awesome! and uh yeah, it's um, quite unlike the uh, electronic show. More suits here than uh, uh, more suits and ties here than you can poke a stick out whereas you go to the electronics uh, shows. and it's yeah, it's pretty much uh, jeans and t-shirts all the way. So and it's not just the exhibitors is wearing their uh, wearing their ties.
All right. I Didn't find the uh 3D PCB printer so oh well. I'll find it eventually. it'll be on the uh highlights reel, the interview reel.

but uh, there you go. It's quite large and the Keynotes all happening there. so we might go in there and uh, see what's happening later. But yeah, that could be a bit of a B Fest so uh I don't think I'll be uh, recording any of those I don't want to listen to the New South Wales Premier the new New South Wales premere crap on about all sorts of stuff.

So yeah. Map: Le they do maps obviously. Ah, there they are here There we go. Cartisian Co.

Be afraid, be afraid. I'll come back guys. I'll come back. you've got a good crowd there it is.

3D printer I Told Malcol not to not to tweet you because I really didn't want this to happen. They didn't want me to come by. they were afraid they're not ready. it's prototype.

Hardware That's all right. I'll be kind. There we go. but it does.

uh, print. um, silver ink. So prints printable ink. Here's one printed on4 Simon Says game.

Yep and it actually works. Terrific and I'm going to lose one sec. Oh I lost and we can also print the exact same circuit on paper on paper as well. That's also Reflow solded EXC which is incredible.

That is ordinary paper. No. I'll come back. let's leave it for yep.

cool guys. just on a walk around video. See you So yeah they got 123k on Kickstarter I believe So they're uh yeah, they got their tin 137 oh 13 37 oh I I Stand to be corrected. Every cent counts.

it does. We're a small Po starter from Brisbane y. Yep. okay.

even the flights down here killed you, right? We drve. Oh, you drove to save money? All right. Fantastic. Yep.

oh cuz you got to carry the gear in the boot exactly. Of course. Printers and a whole bunch of soldering materials. Yep, yep, got it all right.

I'll catch up with you guys later. So there you go. Found them and they they're drawing quite a crowd. You know any that looks like a 3D printer I think is going to draw a crowd even though it's not a 3D printer? it's a 2d um printer which uh, prints down conductive Inc on pretty much anything.

so uh, they reckon they've they've got it licked. The technology well, not probably not perfected yet, but uh, they would. They reckon they're uh, they got to go. they can Reflow solder the things so that's got to be impressive.

and uh Korean Pavilion All right, no no idea. Robotron But yeah, you could be here all day. This is actually quite quite a show. I'm very impressed I haven't Uh, haven't been to Seab but before cuz I thought it was much more business oriented.
What cost they're a, um, they got pulling a bit of a crowd in there. they have active Home Intelligence but they would primarily be doing uh uh Power you know, power logging for home and stuff like that. probably Wireless as everything is these days. all right.

And of course they got fun stuff to play with. There you go racing game. Terrific. You don't see normally see a line for that sort of stuff, but the suits here, you know they don't really want to play.

so blast monitoring equipment. There you go. Well if you want your blast monitoring equipment, come talk to those guys. Online Marketplace For travelers is there's quite a few.

uh, quite a few of those companies. Bit of a dime a dozen I would suspect Internet New York Times International New York Times see why are they here? That's bizarre and uh, gaming Software We're in and not sure what sort of gaming S software. but uh Indian Technology company? There you go. so there's quite a few and there's a lot of people here too.

I'm not sure how many people they get through the doors at Seit typically, but uh, I'm quite impressed cuz it's almost lunchtime so people would be getting a bit, uh, bit ansty. There you go. Is this the wifi? It's probably got. Wi-Fi here has it, so no, Is it some sort of uh yeah.

Anyway, everyone's mad at work on their notebooks, that's for sure. Black? No, no idea what they do. See, we could, uh, go and interview a whole bunch for these companies. There's hundreds of them here and uh, we could spend all day and some of them probably make really interesting stuff so you know if you, that's a good.

One of the good parts about coming to these shows is that you can find Little Gems that you never knew about and uh, leaks? Got no idea. Online marketing? Oh great. yeah, but you know companies need that sort of crap. So me: I don't mark it I just put up my info and uh, if you build it, they will come.

So I don't need marking. That's a very impressive looking. uh rack Hubin shuna? yeah, look that's impressive. Okay, but that's uh, they aren't doing racks, they're doing connectivity Solutions FIV Company I'm guessing lab coat Terrific.

Well done somewhere wearing a lab coat I Love it Cable In cable in's a big thing so there you go quite a few. uh, maybe let's you want to head into the uh keynote thing, see if anything's happening but there you go. I think we've pretty much done the done the walk around though. um I missed a whole bunch of stuff so apologies for that.

but uh anyway. I'll primarily be uh oh, 22 minutes I've been wandering around so there you go. could be a while and there's nothing happening in there at the moment. No, no, it's all over so but let's let's have a look see how big the uh, why not? let's go behind the curtain.

Tada yeah, big venue. There you go. Oh huge desk up the back. They're really serious about their uh serious about their it stuff.
Oh oh, they're getting their lights out. There you go, their road cases, all their big uh 3D lights spotlights are coming out and that's where they have their keynote Yawnfest I'm I Think there could be some interesting uh uh things that people talk about there, but yeah, certainly not the Keynotes when you get in the New South Wales Premiere that's just uh, you know, but hey, it's a business show. sh so yeah. whatever.

Anyway, I think we'll call quits. There you go I Hope you enjoyed that uh walk around of Seit uh 2014 and uh yeah. I will be doing another video of course which will be uh, some highlights stuff and pretty much just a few interviews with uh, people. That's pretty much so there you go.

Catch you next time.

I was on the NICTA exhibit on Tuesday, and sadly missed you. Brilliant tour video, though.

You don't need marketing because Youtube does it for you and that in turn drives traffic to your site which eventually led to more natural traffic to the site and forums. Youtube has the audience, it cross markets between videos and of course all the marketing to make Youtube a success in the first place. A little narrow minded there Dave.

I feel a bit uncomfortable seeing him talk badly about the companies as he walks by but it is funny to watch.  *walks by blackberry* "Blackberry? what are they still doing" walks by AVG  "AVG?, I just ditched them" etc.

    that's a very impressive… rack 😀 😀

I don't mind about occasional shaking cam shots (not a big deal in this video), but, IMHO, you doing pan moving too quick. Very blurry and a bit irritating to the eye.
And – oh. Thanks for sharing! Now I can stay at home and watch. You saved me a lot of money. 🙂
