Hi hey yes, we're are time announcing the winner for the road. and Schwarz RTB to double for our look at that thing of beauty joy forever RTB to double O for oscilloscope we just so happen to find in the duster with all the stuff with it. It's almost brand new and we're going to give it away. I ran a thing on the for Yeah I Asked for people to submit video entries and we had hook.

hang on. Go over to here here it is. We had all the entries here. They submit them on the forum.

how many? David they were hundred and something? Yeah. I thought we'd lost that it was over and fifty. Like to animate something like that? Yeah, there's a guy at the end just at Sydney Yes, someone's the Edgemont someone did stats or something so thank you. you're on the discussion anyway.

So there you go. It did steps and things like that. Anyway, yes, lots of entries. more than I thought because I thought the video requirement would not really rule out a lot of people.

but yeah, so they entered and the standard was ridiculously good. Yeah, yeah, yeah, we were guilt trips. Ah, you go through like a hundred entries and you just feel so guilty and you're like I can't give you all score And it did I feel wonderful regardless. yeah, it's like it was.

It was pretty horrific experience actually. Honda We did watch every single one of the videos. What we do is we both watch them separately. We had a spreadsheet and we'll rank them one, two, three, and one.

being like worthy to be. and yeah, pretty good. three been and don't really not getting the vibe at all and there were and then when. So we did that separately and then we merge the two lists and the ones with the top with how we boat.

If we both rank them one, we they went on the shortlist. Um yeah, we actually we thought there was the other one. We had similar items. like a lot of them.

so like ah Deb's yes, so it was yes. So we I think we ended up with eight or nine or ten? Yes, um who do we both ranked as you know, like yeah, she'd probably you know, short assurance or something like that and so yes, thank you very much to everyone who entered. Unfortunately, we've only got one of these babies and yes, 10-bit ADC mmm smell it mix equal scope and yeah, it's a 300 mega 300 PS 300 Meg This is the fully option up version with the serial decoding and everything so it's absolutely brilliant. So that's how we did it.

and then we merged them and then we just argued for the last couple of hours over who should win. Yeah, and we're yeah, it was. It was hard. so like a Twitter poll.

Yeah and then we did the whole of yeah I should actually call that up and winner was like I don't know, should we give it to or should we give it to a youngster? Should we give it to a hackus like a you know, a community group? Should we give it to the most technically worthy? who could most of all, the person in the most final financial dire straits or whatever. Um, you know it was. It was tough. In the end, we sort of chose a winner.
That was a bit of a combination of yeah, a few of those here the worthy. He's worthy. Yes, I many though. yeah, there were many worthy.

Seriously, like we couldn't pick. In the end it was like what we did, didn't we should We announce a winner? Yeah, all right I'll call. Also, we go to the runner-ups and hang on night. Well, there are no runner ups or the the contenders.

Yeah, well, no because we then would have to list all at least top 10 or top 15. That were that both matched our list. we'd have to. yeah, but we will do a shout out to a couple of others, but the winner is ready.

Drumroll winner of this fantastic scope giveaway is and by the way, sorry but you will be liable for all import charges then. Anyway, the winner is today. I will show it. yes it's on screen.

Yep, we're all good. Tada the winner is Matt Holland's good on your mat. he is well shall we play his video to replayed in full. Okay let's go if my name's Matt I'm from England and emergency men out on the forums hover.

not so much. recently as I've been quite busy because tomorrow will be graduating from University with my master's grade in Electronic and Electrical Engineering and along with Lina University I lose my access to all of their equipment including the laser cutters. They're like PD printers and especially the lab equipment. Find your filters and so this is my entry into the word Ishwar self could give away and I'll now try and justify my entreaty.

So I'll give a quick overview of my current lab equipment, give the necessary type of coffee, my power supply when he comes over, and I'm a pretty cheap unity multimeter and my 25 megahertz a trip to China AWG get rego times but not ideal as okay. yeah but if I make houses quite late. So a couple of projects I've worked on, this is the Monkey RF it's a device for recording and replaying radio signals at 400 s3. that and it's a custom-made board custom made box many last summer I build this type of spectrum it sounds like thing can fix different frequencies of sound and displays them as like it's entirely I Love design.

It's kind of cool when I took the first prototype boards which didn't work unfortunately. Handle turned that into my poster for a coffee and then at me I started using FPGA is a lot so this was part of my Master's project I was using this lattice part here and now I'm working in science Park which runs at 100 minutes which is abortion as I told you to measure the clock. this is my source code. Support them I forget now one of the projects and you can read about them at projects Don't Marlins.com and we're like I thought you know it's not a bad entry yes, doing stuff and I almost ran him.

we're both almost ranked in pretty like we're like two. a dream, almost yet mid-range Can I guess in the video was by no means the best video. I'm looper understood it was understated and I almost didn't like put him in my top one ly lucky we were like investigating people lucky man because he was annoyed that he mentioned his website and he didn't link it in. he didn't link it into a lucky man.
so yeah I did I checked out his website and his other projects a property of what really sold it to us. Really? I mean he doesn't have a YouTube does he know I don't think he has a you do not always saw but eyes 28 videos videos I don't know if he's actually made any Oh yeah he's done some belamis Yeah right but yeah like he saw that nothing compared to his log. Yeah like his log is like or documenting all the projects which he's done. Even did something based on my micro calc.

yeah he did like a credit card etbi so much everything. Yeah, use the sandwich PCB idea from DeMarco Calchas Yep and he's done like smartwatches and just tons of different projects. So yeah. CRT Oscilloscopes Yeah, like he's trying to make himself a better a scope? Yeah yeah, he's try to be what is it? Yeah yeah, oh, you got a K an old HP our scope and tried to replace it with an L a logic analyzer, logic analyzer.

sorry yeah and just lots of. There's some reverse engineering staff and there's all sorts of anyway. really cool. So different content producer which of course me being a Content producer really that push my buttons.

Um and all these projects are impressive like that. They're very very well yeah, look, yep and he's just graduated you need? So he's a bit of a youngster so it's sort of a half tick in that category. although um, we would do. these are not runner ups as such.

but I I just wanted to shout them out because they are like there's no console. There's no, there's no sorrows, no motivation, cries, thought or giveaways unless the dumpster magically produces more oscilloscopes. And there were so many people who who wanted like who needed a basic scope. And you know I wish we almost thought about selling it and buying like five.

Yeah, because there's a small something. and I like yeah because there were just so many people who could use it and great hackerspaces like that. You like our man, you guys? Yep, yeah, yeah the benefit would spread, but look exactly so. hopefully I'm at can produce content, keep us updated on his blog, hopefully produce YouTube channels and show us what he's going to do with this puppy.

So yeah I just wanted to give a shout out to - well this one. This first one 16 year old kid really impressed us. I think it was one of the first videos we saw. yeah well you it and it was.

This is really good. he's 16 so shout out to Philip shook Philip shook and anyway you dumb he did it okay I'm Philip shield a funeral a special Oscar who's currently on a bit of an adventure is living in Istanbul Turkey are huge Pat any my journey and all topics but no former subject in the U.s. once. okay sorry you gotta get project in the Old Guard which I could really use the MS will keep a balloon anyway.
what he's done is he's 16 years old up Lily is an 8-bit elders I died in his own a lot of eat anything like that. yeah lot eaten so most of them were based on this one designer Kate rifle yeah but we've kept in the same I was his red board yeah or it shifts the microcontroller suit and he was go since we don't notice. All on his own is and he designed the board and he shows the layout of the board so the 3d models to schematics some you so and here's the layout of the ball. Really really great common we use in your old this guy's gone flames about the water all the right and the PCB by yeah and he was on.

he was on your toast for yeah he was my tall I think you might talk why have any cat on but then you're in a myself having a time yet. a dog school dog. It's alright anyway so shout out to Phil he's going places folks I described fine tonight I don't think he's got many know he's got zero something one year. this is this video anyway 16 year old and another one who is with I'd like to shout out because I think this guy has a future on YouTube and you should stick with it John suddenly take it away John hi did and Dave go with that I'm John maybe I need that school but it's not very pleased.

So right now I'm a university student living in my parents basement and I want to start a new educational video series on electronics. So without further ado, let me walk you through my basic setup in terms of equipment such this is my desk and this is where I write everything down I'll usually draw schematics or explain basic electrical concepts. or maybe I'll just pull out a breadboard in prototype something up real fast now. I'll attach the camera and spare parts.

Here's some of the equipment I'm working with: Okay, we'll take five. So right now I'm using a BK precision a 2806 multimeter. They kinda crusty, puss-filled a speck in for redundancy. this fluke 110.

The reason I keep the 2806 round is because it's a fluke 110. You can't measure current I'm also using my trusty Keiko FX triple 8 for the majority of soldering I do. and this old Tektronix 465 be a telescope. So the only real problem I have with is that I can't do digital storage it didn't analog scope so I can't really show how analog and digital signals change over time unless that time period is very short allows the content I plan on making and we based around electronics, concepts, robotics, vintage computing, the electrical kind of music, equipment we're opening to a pair, videos and a lot of fun hobbyist projects.

and the knife will catch you next time. Yes John is going places seriously like he's like he should stick to making to his channel. Yeah and subscribe. I have got many videos there but I hope he keeps it up.

So yeah I always want to shout out those two youngsters and there were other youngsters in there I like Eliot youngest was like 14. Yeah well something. yeah we know we had like a we had her, we had like sub ten-year-old in me. That one we liked with this entry.
this person is entering or are they just we weren't sure he was entering. We went. Services Yeah anyway so that's it. We've ruffled on long enough.

So congratulations to Matt Yeah um from kick yeah you've got your high speed project. My name is this area. yeah we thought he was technically worthy is working on RF projects mixed-signal FPGA all that sort of jazz and he has a track record of producing projects and published them on his website. so yep, hopefully you agree.

If not, my flame is down below. haha so sorry, but we only had one of these to give away and hopefully if we did the right job here we pick the right we know give us a thumbs up. if not, give us a thumbs up. Still, what doesn't matter, you can give a photo.

So difficult to judge it was it was painful but yeah it was I don't think I want to run one of these again. The video submit I knew what I was getting him for I Didn't expect so many though and such a good standard So thank you. Everyone who entered was Brewin that's it. Congratulations man, catch you next time Bye.

In the UK if you pull anything out of a bin you get done for "theft by finding" so you're lucky you can do it. Mind you Australia is a million times better a country than this shit hole anyway!

Hello. could you please do a review or a short episode on multi-meters and their use in different countries. what i mean is, can we use the US bought multi-meters in Europe for example? i have heard that due to Hz differences, there might be some issues. thank you very much in advance!

The "trade one good scope for 5 fair models" makes me wonder. Just how much savings could be had with a bulk buy of like 100 scopes? Clearly the "club" would all need to be in the same region and economic zone or the benefit will be lost on overseas post and import duties distributing them. And then there is the bother of agreeing on a model and options…

Another dumpster lie.. What will be next?

That will cost Matt an absolute fortune in import charges, the uk sucks, I should know I live here.

John Sutley i'm sorry but he is just copying Casey Neistat in his format not at all that great once you know he is copying Casey.

  26. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Seegal Galguntijak says:

Can someone please give me an oscilloscope for free? It doesn't have to be a Rhode&Schwarz, a "cheap-ish" Rigol would totally suffice as well… (which is still not cheap from my point of view…cheap would be something like 20 bucks or something like that, which I could afford, but there's no decent scope for that kind of money)

  27. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars David Kenny says:

Hey, I smell nepotism… The scope winner is obviously related to David. Just kidding, but I bet you could fool people by introducing him as his brother.
