Today the XJ gets some dope parts including a champion aluminum radiator and an electric exhaust cutout kit from Summit Racing! These upgrades really made the Jeep Cherokee not overheat and it made it really fun to change the exhaust note at the flip of a switch.

HEY BRO HEEEEEELLLLPPPPPPP LOL…………..my converter was stolen of my 98 xj last night in my driveway. What are good anti theft plates and such for these XJs, any part numbers or info? I’m in CA so have to have a converter.

Can someone explain the reason for the aluminum radiator? Does it last longer? I’m confused

  5. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Stormsmack says:

I put an aluminum radiator in, removed a year later and went back w a OEM set up. I had more overheating issues w the aluminum one. I'm interested to see how things are going. And I dont understand why you removed the grill and header.

I used a three core with stock fans on my 01''Jeep XJ works great. Enjoyed, New Sub. Howdy from Joshua TX.

  8. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Luke Doherty says:

You should link where you get the parts from

  9. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Markus Streich says:

You should have replaced the water pump, my 98 Cherokee was overheating, when I pulled the old water pump the impellers were all corroded away so it was not moving any coolant thru the system. Where do ya'll wheel, I'm in Plano?

  13. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Frank Nagle says:

A really good cooling system flush will go a long way to running cooler…

  14. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Jesse Williamson says:

You need one electric I have the same problem still running stock radiator

  15. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Mason Herbert says:

What’s the brand of the cutout y’all used?

  16. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Matthew Dias says:

I have an xj too and have been looking into electric exhaust cutouts, have you fried yours going off-roading through mud and water and if not what brand are you using

  17. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Arthur Prado says:

What’s the part number for the exhaust cutouts? Thanks!

  18. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Brandon Olivo says:

Instead of the hydro you need a hand throttle look them up great mod for a manul jeep

  19. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Drew Jones says:

Nice Cherokee! Tip, when pouring antifreeze or oil pour with the spout on the top to let in air for a smoother flow.

  20. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars acedogg692005 says:

Thanks for the warning on the volume.

  21. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars MrFlashHandy says:

Xjs like to break aluminum radiator end caps. If that one breaks buy one with plastic end caps

  22. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars J C says:

That hydro is a great idea. Nice color too on that CJ

  23. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Nothing says:

No one makes a good aluminum radiator for XJ's.
About the only good advice that wasnt really given, if your jeep is running hot, something isnt right. I live in Central Florida, my cooling system is completely stock, it never gets above 210.

  24. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars LS 66 says:

I would have changed the water pump as well. With everything out of the way it’s an easy job!

  25. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Jason Dietz says:

Water pump, they fail all the time.

  26. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars doug fehler says:

DR D i have found that if you are draining cooling system it is easier to just pull lower rad hose with catch container below it. PS not a real doctor
