In this video we drive the 60's turbo go kart for the first time with a boost gauge! This thing is powered by a turbocharged predator 212 engine. What we needed to do was make a turbo manifold for the turbo predator 212, oil system, and electrical system to make sure the turbo could run completely autonomously, that way when we hook it up to the engine, we would know that there were no issues on the turbo side of things. After we did that we ran this turbo kart under boost with 2 carburetors, made custom intake piping, and finally revved it up and tuned it so it ripped! Then, a few weeks later we decided to change things up and use a single blow-through carb design with a pressurized fuel system and a 22mm mikuni.
Thanks for watching and be sure to stay tuned for this thing making some boost while driving!

maybe a "push pull cable on the throttle/ waste gate lever would work to.
    still a great share!

  2. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Yoji the Car guy says:

Were can I get that boost gauge?

  3. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars C McGill says:

What size turbo are you using

  4. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Andrew Steele says:

I subscribe right after seeing your name

  5. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Wes the lockpicker says:

My vortech supercharger only made 10 lbs of boost with the stock pulley on my mustang

  6. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars austin jensen says:

I think a much smaller boost gauge would help, that thing is never going to see over 10psi

  7. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Robbie Price says:

    Really ,Warren for prez,
I'd raise Cain at utube putting this add on my vid
Hope you didn't put on yourself

Great video! Your measuring the boost incorrectly. Needs to be connected to a fitting in the intake manifold after the carb. This will indicate manifold vacuum and manifold boost, not pressure in the turbo. The only time you will see boost is when the throttle is either wide open (pressure in the intake port has dropped to near atmospheric pressure)or just after closing the throttle on over run just before the waste gate opens from over-pressure

    Damnnn little engine but fast

  10. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Dave the VTWIN addict says:

You need to put twin turbskis on it and paint that go-kart black and do a Dale Earnhardt paint Scheme so you can do it for Dale

  11. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Jesse Ramirez says:

Nice where did you get the turbo

  12. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars jamie andersson says:

yeah sure that you hit 6 lbs in that shit, if you would of done that the fucking motor would'nt exist today…

  13. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Eva Paz says:

I see a lot of gamble. No methodology. Gamble has 50% chances of improvement, until cultural ceiling is reached. You have to go back to school and study maths, physics and chemistry, to stop wasting petrol from Arabia in kid games. BTW: Other people has scientific projects and dont have the resources!!!

  14. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Trueman rep says:

those ihi rhb31 actuators open at 6-7lbs if my memory serves me right.

  15. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Todd Bearden says:

best turbo setup I've seen yet so kudos to you guys but you didn't mention if it was any faster. let us know. great job keep it up!!

  16. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars UnTamed Mustang says:

Gear ratio plays a BIG role in turbocharging.
A car for example wont easily make boost with a 4.56 gear ratio but will easily make boost with a 2.73 ratio.
How do i know? BECAUSE I've done it. And i have a twin turbo setup.
i learned the hard way. You just learned what took me a year to find out.

  17. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Phil Hans says:

You need a rising rate fuel pump for blow through turbo carb set up.

  18. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars miller242424 says:

    That engine mount is sketchy

  19. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Chase Lepage says:

I hate the muscle sound. It overpowers the spool

  20. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Chase Lepage says:

I would deff get a wastegate with numbers from 1-5-10

  21. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Chase Lepage says:

Halfway thru the video the turbo whistle and watergate stopped working
