    They just bring out 500w as Nvidia release GPUs that need 1000w power supply so don't see a gaming PC running wireless, monitor all ready have a display cable so power cable is no worries, could see the tech been built into a desk pad maybe with 100w max to charge Phone, Tablet, keyboard, mouse, headset, controller and maybe run & charge a thin and light laptop (mine has a 65w charger) maybe charging a Nintendo Switch and a steamdeck? But in use they would be well out of range but some gaming laptops already have 330w power bricks and 180w is normal so nah not going to be wireless, maybe a market to reduce charger cable clutter if its cheap but nothing more

    I went and checked because the power brick for my laptop charger looks about the same size. It's marked as 90 watts.

    Quite honestly what is the advantage over Qi? Just slap a Qi coil on the band of a wireless headset, bottom of wireless mouse and keyboard etc… and put the charging coil in the RGB desk mat powered by USB and that's all using today's tech.

    Monitor and PC are rarely moved so who cares, just do proper cable management and it won't be noticeable.

    Most pc gamers play with mouse keyboard and cordless is good even if never bought them… cause they are more expensive and need more power.
    There already are powering mats and cordless mat, the mouse still have a battery inside, it just charge with induction.

    Why they just don't mount array of Qi chargers to the desk and only those which would have device over them would be transmitting power. Of course it would be only for charging mouse, keyboard or phone, but it would be nice not having to recharge these things.

    Go look at the FCC rules for a 500W 15MHz transmitter and safe operating distance from the antenna ….. According to the FCC an amateur 20M station (14 MHz) operating at 500W you need to be 3.4 meters away from the antenna at a minimum ….. Which means you cannot have the antenna anywhere in the average sized room without subjecting humans and pets to dangerous levels of RF power. This also assumes a 0 db gain antenna (omni-directional). If you are using a gain antenna such as forming it into a beam or making it directional the the safe distance increases to 4.8M for a 3 db gain, 6.8M for a 6 db gain, etc.

    There is no way you are going to develop 500W of power at 15 MHz and get it past the FCC …. If you drop it to 100W you'd still need a 1.5M safe operating distance so you'd be lucky to get 5W at 15 MHz approved for something sitting under your desk …. And that doesn't even take into account RFI problems if you don't have a clean Sine wave and are radiating harmonics and perhaps jamming your neighbor's garage door opener ……
