Welcome to Part 2 of the Amphibious Go Kart build! We had a great response to our first video and we are looking forward to continuing this build. In the first episode we made a go kart around a paddle board in order to prove the concept of creating a driving go kart that could also float. That worked out extremely well so we decided to go further along with the build and to add an outboard motor! We decided to use a 3hp 1963 Evinrude Lightwin, which is a 2 cylinder 2 stroke outboard motor. After taking a look at it and adding things like a rebuilt carb and some new fuel, we were ready to add it to the frame. We added it by welding two bars to the back where we could just clamp the motor on. After doing that we decided to take it down to a boat launch to test out how it did in the water! We were super surprised about how solid it was and be sure to stay tuned for the next video of this thing!
