Hi! Yes, it's 2017 so happy New Year to everyone and you might have noticed I haven't uploaded a video for a while. That's because.... I'm on holiday! I'm at the beach! There you go, for those who wan to have a quick look Sorry if there is any wind noise, I'm shooting this on my crappy SJ CAM 5000 It's all right, but it's probably not going to do the business, audio wise. So, maybe just a little update So, normally before I go on holidays, I shoot some material some video, so that I can sit here on the beach and actually release them And pretend to everyone that I'm still back in the lab but unfortunately I'm not With all the Batteriser thing that came in at the last minute in 2016 just around Christmas time, which I didn't expect, that sort of sucked all my time and other things and I didn't have time to shoot any material.

so sorry, I'll be back mid January or something like that, hopefully. the do beach time reds and by all means leave something in the comments and maybe I can do something. perhaps anyway. 2017 What? I wonder talking type that they'll be a video over on my supporters channel for a robe.

stuff that you know I planes and stuff for 2017 hopefully. But I just wanted to work and talk about bullshit because it was spurred on by the batter Iser thing, the battery / Batteriser thing and who was it? Who said I can't remember who said that. It takes an order of magnitude more energy to refute bullshit then to reproduce it in the first place. and I that's probably incorrect.

It's going to be several orders of magnitude more energy required to refute bullshit. And this Batteriser has produced more bullshit / volumetric millimeter of product than anything else. And I could be doing stuff until the cows come home. The amount of stuff that I can refute on this thing and it looks even worse than what we expected.

and a lot of people have rightly said in the comments of my previous: I've only done one official video on it, but Miller said I'm doing too many videos on it. Don't waste my time refuting this bullshit. They're not worth the oxygen and don't give publicity and all that sort of stuff, but I think it has to be seen through our event. You know, I was planning another two videos on that, a technical video doing measurements and stuff like that, and then five.

Maybe a final summary video summarizing all the bullshit in this thing. but there's so much. don't even know where a start the wind started to pick up you, but maybe change the view? There you go beautifully. Speeches about our 16 kilometres are not now I probably about 14 kilometres long or something like that.

it's just an ordinary beach in Australia No worries, and the amount of effort required to refute bullshit. but it's not. handle so many emails, so many tweets and other comments about the solar roadways. The French solar roadways.

thing as well I mean that's just inside. A few people want me to refute that one as well. I'm unfortunately I don't think there's any doubt from it yet, so I'm not sure if I can actually do anything useful there at the moment. I could I could produce a video and maybe I will.
I don't know if I can fire you either. Numbers around the bullshit about the number and but are there with the bullshit award of 2016 and probably 2015 has to go to better either because they delivered that bullshit I'm so maybe I should make up a little golden toad or something like that award. Anyway, let me know what you think about refuting bullshit like these speakers. It just goes on and on and on.

It almost seems impossible to do this, but my most popular videos that were some of my most popular videos are the debunking ones. People love them so I'm definitely gonna keep on doing them and I won't be able to resist when I get back. I'll get stuck in the Batteriser Hopefully I'll have my double-a ones available anyway. You're probably sick of hearing about the bloody Better Eyes or some people have complained I'm it rightly so you know, like probably it like it's it's It's proven beyond a shadow of a doubt.

Always has been on the forum and now that people have, including myself and others have tested the product, If it's Always works, practically worse-than-expected I'm so it's it's totally refuted already. But Joe Public does not know that and that's the problem. So yeah, what can you do And I Anyway, yes, I'm headed. Debunking stuff is like an asymmetrical argument.

You know it is not an even sided argument and it's yeah. But look, it's like a baby religion. You just like its practice. It's becomes fruitless in the end.

You just can't be slaves. Come back with the same bullshit time and time again and doesn't matter how many times you can prove it. facts in your face, here it is. It doesn't matter if it's just the amount of because it can have bullshit, can have massive marketing behind it, and people want to believe bullshit.

That's the problem. And for you know, engineers, technical people like us. We get it. You know we get the the technical aspects of it.

And we got here. That's obviously bullshit. Let's debunk. You know, Why Doesn't everyone understand this Unfortunately, Yeah, it's it.

requires another effort level again to educate the public on this kind of bullshit. So I don't I Yeah. An asymmetrical argument that's almost unwinnable cycles. They just don't give up.

Don't give up. It's not like they will admit and suddenly look at out are sorry and go admit our sorry yeah we didn't realize that yeah it's it's not going to work. It's not really a worthy in our product is that they just going to keep doubling down, tripling down, quadrupling down on the bullshit. And what can you do? Start the rainy, start to spit a little bit.

This is very honest Rio like and if yes, so yeah, I'm going to get wet as water on the lens books. anyway. I'll call it quits. Let me know what you think about refuting bullshit and all that sort of stuff.
We've got any other ideas for stuff I can talk about while I'm on holidays. I know I should be enjoying my holidays and I am. but it's a bit of dead time at the moment so I thought I wandered down to the beach and shoot this anyway. Catch you next time.

It's the one type of matter which completely breaks every possible law and theory about physics. BS defies everything, even the person creating the BS, definitely anyone trying to refute it, and always all forms of reality. It is truly magic, no science required!

    Solar freakin beaches!!!

I know it's old but.. just wanted to say. Butterfly effect man. Even something as small as making someone pause for 2 seconds to skim your video can have exponentially increasing changes further along. Never stop.

The worst is audio BS. Talking to anti-science audiophiles is like talking to cult members.

Sausage Party on Netflix is a good example of needing to believe. Funny too.

Although you have some clouds, it looks stunning. Over here in the UK is miserable and wet, also, our stretches of coastal refuse have the occasional square of beach in there somewhere, I'm looking at the sand on your video and just imagining running barefoot. you have a beautiful country.

I like your refuting videos especially when you discuss the science that is involved, and base the information on data. I am concerned that some ideas "before their time" later become mainstream. The initial skepticism is often based on flawed early studies or "accepted wisdom" with appeal to authority rather than data. You are doing a good service, but may be quixotic. Thanks for giving some fresh skeptical outlook.

Definitely keep opening peoples eyes to the truth. Hopefully soon there will be some form of regulation. We are already seeing FB taking misinformation seriously and undertaking measures to deal with it ….or at least try. Although any future regs will be generated thru / with/ via the USA who now have a serial liar at the helm

I really enjoy the debunking videos, it needs to be done. But It gives us good talking points to give our more credulous friends little "micro inoculations" of skepticism. (Peter Boghossian's term)

It takes time, but in the long run taking the blowtorch to the bullshit is crucial. There are still places in the world where there are witch trials, and where albinos are killed for their body parts. Yet, far fewer people believe in magic and curses and so on today than used to. Bullshit kills. Stamp it out when you can. Every little bit helps.

It's easier to fool people than to convince them they've been fooled.

I appreciate the analysis of electronics. When you open a product and analyze it, it doesn't get any better than that. Your years of expertise used to explain things to people who want to learn electronics is very rare. It's your channel and your psyche so whatever you want to do then I'll watch. Ultimately I would like a website where I could type a query in and get an accurate answer without someone trying to sell me something but no one does something for nothing so I'll just have to learn to dig and dig for answers but it don't come easy. (Look out kid, they keep it all hid!) I guess I won't get it all dumped into my lap.

Refuting bullshit; something I do on a daily basis at work. All companies spout bullshit, marketing wank….call it what you will. What scares me is how many times I read specs, comparisons and rebuttals only to ask myself "who wrote this crap". Bullshit is everywhere, watch out people.

Dave, you've made your point on the batteriser and made definitively and well. The fact that some will still argue notwithstanding – it's time to move on and let your work stand for itself.

  20. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Bill Bixby says:

    Hi Dave
I find it hard to understand people (particularly in Australia) would object to bull shit being debunked (unless they are currently "serving" politicians). I hope you do continuing series on debunking bull shit, some Australians really need to turn off their shock-jock educators to see the damage done through bull shit and ignorance. I noticed and understand your frustration at attempting to have an intelligent discussion with believers about religion et al, this reminds me of an excellent book by Michael Shermer called "The believing brain"

I'd rather see you do something more useful with your time, like tutorials etc… I really enjoy your videos but I would like to learn some more. I enjoy the tear downs but how about some more repair vids, or even a build. Or perhaps just some more information regarding the operation of an oscilloscope or another sophisticated piece of diagnostic equipment. Anything that gives people an opportunity to learn more about electronics !! Anyways keep up the good work, hope you enjoyed the vacation !!

  22. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Gully Foyle says:

What a great beach! Hey Dave why not just not relax for now. There is too much bullshit extant in the world to ever refute.

  23. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Ghrey says:

Bullshit must be refuted with all available resources, unendingly. If you fail Trump happens…..

  24. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars Edmundo Cunha says:

blablablablabla batteriser, sorry man you sound like an old vinyl, its a done topic, close it
    same for solar stuff

  25. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars oandasternclips says:
