Well this video marks a pretty cool time for the FL250 odyssey restoration. After rebuilding the motor and touching every single bit of this thing's frame including each nut and bolt, it's finally time to let er' rip! The Honda FL250 odyssey was made for a long time and is known as a type of legend within the karting/utv community for its durability and 250cc 2-stroke madness. We were very excited to begin working on this thing and it has made a major transformation in terms of looks as well as driving capability. While it still drives a little rich, that can be tuned out with time so we are excited to see what this thing can really do when its perfectly set up.
Thank you guys for watching and be sure to stay tuned for the rest of this build!

Find a carb off the Honda 250R. Or, better yet, the whole 250R engine. Talk about wake that lil rig up.

Man, where do you guys find these farm roads… I am in the DFW area and cannot seem to find anywhere to stretch the legs on my toys without driving a couple of hours and paying to get in. Great vid, love the 2 stroke doing its thing.

Awesome Guys.Sounds, and looks great ! Your work is paying off.Have to remind peeps you rebuilt the motor and it's still breaking in too.

A 2 stroke carb works backwards from a 4 stroke carb. Tightening the screw richens the mixture and loosening it will lean out the mixture. The screw adjusts air on a 2 stroke and fuel on a 4 stroke.

  8. Avataaar/Circle Created with python_avatars F5 Tornado says:

Your idle is set too high for the idle/air mixture screw to have any effect. Set the idle/air mixture screw to 1 & 1/2 turns out. Run a few high speed runs (wide open throttle), then shut the motor off while coasting to a stop. Don't let it idle. Pull your spark plug and check it's color. It should be a light brown on the porcelain part of the plug. If it's white and flakey, it's lean. If it's dark and/or oily, it's rich. Your idle/air mixture screw only affects 0 – 1/8 throttle. The needle jet in the slide affects 1/8 – 3/4 throttle (most effective jet). Your main jet affects 3/4 – full throttle. Good luck.
